According to a source close to the royal family, “This is a very important event for Charles, and he wants his son to be at the coronation to witness it. He wants Harry back in the family.”

To add insult to this “unbroken family” claim, Harry wrote that his father told Princess Diana, “Now you’ve given me an heir and a replacement – my work is done,” after her birth on September 15, 1984.

Harry is now fifth in line to the throne as Prince William and Princess Catherine have welcomed two more children, Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4).

As you can see from the quote, King Charles III reportedly referred to Harry as a “spare,” hence the title of his memoir.

Royal historian Robert Lacey told PEOPLE“Other than [Charles’] father’s hope to reunite with his son, one of the jobs of the royal family is to show how to overcome the problems we all face in a humane and considerate way. What will be successful for the family in the future is not reconciliation necessarily, but mutual acceptance of different ideas and priorities.”

The entire royal family has remained tight-lipped on Harry’s memoir, and it seems he has no regrets about writing and releasing it.
