Kirk Cameron wrote another children’s book but this time, the public library had no intention of allowing him to promote it on their properties.

The actor-turned-minister is penning a new children’s book that celebrates family, his faith, and biblical wisdom. But all that positivity was overshadowed when Cameron was told he was not welcome to read to children at the local library.
Allegedly the 50 public libraries either did not respond or continued to refuse the author’s request to read to local children. Some of the libraries that responded offered reasons that varied from Cameron’s personal viewpoint to his political alignment.
“We are a very friendly library. Our messaging is not aligned,” said a librarian at the Rochambeau Public Library in Providence, Rhode Island.

When the news hit, many people started blaming her famous sister Candace Cameron Bure. The actor recently came under fire for his comments on leaving the Hallmark Channel for America’s Big Family.
She is proud to want to work with the new channel because it aligns with her “traditional wedding” values. She received backlash from celebrities like JoJo Siwa and Hillarie Burton. They slammed him for promoting dangerous rhetoric.
Fans also came because the actress was tired of her rejecting her Christian narrative and then allegedly judging people who didn’t share the same faith. That moment wasn’t long ago so maybe some of the backlash has rubbed off on his brother.

Although they like to blame the actress for her brother’s downfall, but Twitterverse explained that Kirk was truly horrified of his own accord.
“Kirk Cameron was denied story time in the library because he was a Christian, because he was a dangerous right-wing fanatic. She is a bigger threat to your kids than a drag queen who reads stories. Get your head out of your ass for once,” insisted one follower of the trending topic.
“Kirk Cameron is a right-wing extremist and has no business being around children,” followed another.
“As a public library manager, we have no responsibility to allow anyone to do a program. He has money. He can rent a space to spread his hate. Sheesh. What an ass.”

Don’t worry, the 52-year-old isn’t being bullied online. In fact, he got a lot of support to fend off the criticism he received from those who agreed he had no business influencing children.
“Kirk Cameron has written children’s books promoting faith, family & biblical wisdom. The public library wouldn’t let him promote it personally with a storytime slot. This same library gave that time slot to the “Drag Queen” story time. We live in crazy times,” wrote one follower who allowed her to read and influence her children.
“Just saw the news that Christian Kirk Cameron has been denied story time at over 50 libraries. Yet many of these libraries allow drag queen story hours. Officially it’s ok to be anti-Christian but not anti-anything else. This world is lost. ?”

The consensus regarding public libraries is that they seek diversity in their public spaces and unfortunately, Kirk does not fall into that category. “We have a strategic plan, so we’re really looking at diverse authors. Color author.”
Publisher Kirk Brave Books shared that they received resistance and instead other events took precedence. The San Lorenzo Library hosts a “get free help” clinic for those who cannot afford legal help.
Most legal aid is aimed at people interested in changing their name and gender. “Completing court paperwork to change name and gender marker and updating identification documents such as CA birth certificate, driver’s license/ID, passport and Social Security card,” is a priority.
