Kirstie Alley may be gone but certainly not forgotten.
His family announced on Monday, December 5, that he had died of “recently discovered” cancer.
Social media has exploded since the news of his death became public a few hours ago.

Her “For Richer or Poorer” co-star Tim Allen tweeted, “Sweet soul passed in Kristie Alley. Sad, sad news. Prayers for all her family.”
Steve Guttenberg, whom Alley co-starred in “It Takes Two” with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, also paid tribute to her on-screen love interest.
“Kirstie met me at her house with a tuna sandwich on my favorite bun. ‘Steve, I know all about you and your love of rye bread., eating tuna.’ We’re rehearsing ‘It Takes Two’, and every day she amazes me with her raw generosity and with her soul. The world is a bit empty without Kirstie,” he wrote sincerely.
Kirstie’s Co-Stars Pay Tribute
As we previously reported, John Travolta was among the first celebrities to recognize and remember Alley.
“Kirstie is one of the most special relationships I’ve ever been in. I love you Kirstie. I know we will meet again.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi commented on Travolta’s post, “Sorry! Check out who’s conversation is always my favorite! ??????.”
He also shared a video of them dancing in “Look Who’s Talking” to his Instagram Story.
Carmen Electra also shared a sweet post about Alley.
“#rip to such a talented soul. we love you Kirstie ??,” he wrote.
Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Yvette Nicole Brown and PETA also paid tribute to Alley.
Alley’s two children announced her passing on social media on Monday.
In a lengthy message shared on her Twitter, her family wrote: “To all our friends, far and wide around the world… We are saddened to inform you that our extraordinary, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.”

Alley was surrounded by her immediate family and “battled with great strength, leaving us with the certainty of her endless joy in life and whatever adventures lay ahead. Despite her iconic status on screen, she was an even greater mother and grandmother.”

The actor has an incredible team of doctors and nurses at the Moffitt Cancer Center.
His family is grateful for their care.
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her undying joy to create, is unmatched and gone. We are inspired to live life to the fullest as he did,” the letter continued. “We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you consider our privacy at this difficult time.”
The note concluded, “With love always, True and Lillie Parker.”
