Kyle Richards & Mauricio Umansky Not In Therapy Despite ‘Fighting For This’ Remark

Status of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s relationship continues to raise eyebrows amid their ongoing breakup.

The estranged couple announced their separation months earlier but have yet to start their divorce proceedings. Although Umansky had previously hinted at a possible reconciliation, his partner shared conflicting opinions about their romance. Now, sources have revealed the couple are taking therapy sessions separately.

Kyle Richards & Mauricio Umansky Don’t Overcome Their Issues In Couples Therapy

Reports of the former couple’s split arrived in July, marking the end of their 27-year marriage. Although there is no news of a divorce, the estranged couple continues to raise concerns about their relationship, with the latest update hinting that they want to stay apart.

Most separated couples without divorce plans usually use marriage counseling or couples therapy sessions to resolve their differences and save their marriage. However, in the case of Richards and Umansky, these exes did the opposite.

Instead of taking counseling sessions together, sources recently revealed the pair are engaging in individual therapy meetings. According to insiders, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star and her ex-boyfriend have not resolved the issues that led to their breakup.

The informants told TMZ that estranged couples want space to explore individually. Additionally, sources confirm that there are still no divorce talks, and reconciliation is also uncertain. In the words of an insider:

“Look, they might get back together, but they might not. They just don’t know right now. They’ll decide at some point if they stay married, but not now.”

Speculation about a reconciliation began early last month after Umansky teased fans about mending his broken bridge with Richards. The “Dancing With The Stars” contestant revealed that her relationship struggles with the mother of four will be featured on this season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“You will see our relationship lead to the difficult part of the relationship; there is no question about all that,” explained the Mexican. “But it’s going to be a really fun and entertaining season for people who like watching drama — there’s going to be a lot of drama, that’s for sure.”

Regarding the murky state of the estranged couple’s relationship, Umansky claims the couple is far from ending their long-term marriage. In his words: “The reality is… we’re officially breaking up, but we’re not wasting time.” The real estate mogul explained that they were “fighting for this,” adding:

“We have been married for 27 years, 26 amazing years. Kyle is my best friend; he is an amazing human being. I love him… And marriages go through hard times, sometimes, and that’s what we’re dealing with right now.”

Additionally, The Agency founder assured “RHOBH” fans that they will be the first to know about changes in the estranged couple’s relationship. “We will tell our fans when we know how our lives are, but at the same time, we fight [for our marriage],” Umansky said.

Sources say the intention to finalize the end of the former couple’s 27-year marriage is present, but millions of dollars are at stake if the couple goes the divorce route. Richards has made a fortune thanks to her reality TV career on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

In Umansky’s case, the Mexican national has a reported net worth of $100M with nearly $5B in real estate sales. The 53-year-old credits his wife’s estranged family for his success, as he previously earned a meager salary while in the fashion industry.

The “DWTS” contestant began her real estate career working for her estranged partner’s father, Rick Hilton, before opening his company, The Agency, in 2011. Given the wealth of both couples, divorce proceedings without a prenuptial agreement could result in a bitter battle to divide their assets.

At the moment, the former couple’s future remains uncertain, but the ball may be in Richards’ court. The mother of four was responsible for stopping the couple’s marriage, a revelation she made during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”
