Kyle Richards expresses his feelings to trolls by saying the most about his broken marriage!
The reality TV star and her ex-husband, Mauricio Umansky, announced their separation after 27 years as a couple in July. However, they remain friendly and continue to co-parent with their children. The whole process has been fraught with controversy, especially when she described it as a “straightforward divorce” while her husband said they were “fighting for this.”
Kyle Richards Insists He’s Not Chasing Influence With His Marriage Trouble
The 53-year-old sat down with Alex Baskin on Tuesday and talked about the current situation in his marriage. He also addressed reports that he was only making up stories about his failed marriage to boost his ratings and stay in the news and said:
“Why do people create stories like this? No mistake, Alex. I love you and everyone with the show. But who would do that for a rating? Put their families through this.”
Richards described the news as “one of the dumbest things” she’s heard in 13 years and added, “I’m going to pretend that I’m separated and torturing my kids so people hear it? I mean, it’s the dumbest thing that I have ever heard.”

While he admits to being concerned about being relevant to his friends, family and career, doing stunts with divorce is a line he won’t cross. Richards added that the allegations are upsetting and frustrating, which is one of many things she’s heard about herself and Umansky.
“I also hear a lot of things online that, you know, ‘Oh, well, Kyle and Mauricio, they have an open marriage. The thing they say, that Kyle is only with her for the money. He had no money when I married him, you id—ts,” Richards explained.
The mother of three revealed on the “Bravo’s Hot Mic” podcast that the money people thought she married Umansky had belonged to both of them because he wasn’t financially fit before they got together.
The Blast recently reported that despite confirming their separation, Richards and Umansky have no plans to divorce yet. The insider revealed that the couple wants space to explore individually, and there are no plans to divorce or reconcile.
“Look, they might get back together, but they might not. They just don’t know right now. They will decide at some point whether they stay married, but not now,” the source added. This statement, however, denies Umansky’s claims that champion of marriage when asked what to expect in the new season of their show. In his words:
“The reality is… we’re officially breaking up, but we’re not wasting time. We have been married for 27 years, 26 amazing years. Kyle is my best friend; he is an amazing human being. I love him… And marriages go through hard times, sometimes, and that’s what we’re dealing with right now.”

Richards also admitted responsibility for ending their 27-year union in a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”
Kyle Richards & Mauricio Umansky No Prenuptial Agreement
In addition to not finalizing the divorce, the estranged couple reportedly have zero prenuptial agreements, which may be a reason to stop the process. The former couple have yet to hire a lawyer despite showing interest in formalizing their divorce, but a fierce battle for assets is inevitable if they go that route.
The Blast shared that Umansky’s net worth is estimated at $100 million with nearly $5B in real estate sales, all of which she earned during her marriage to the reality star.
The 53-year-old earned a small fortune in the fashion industry before venturing into real estate and even worked for Richards’ father, Rick Hilton, shortly before launching The Agency in 2011.
Richards is also worth nearly as much from her TV career on “TRHOBH” during her marriage to Umansky. Although they remained civil throughout the split announcement, Richards couldn’t hold back tears as she spoke about the split at BravoCon last weekend.
Umansky seemed at ease with the situation and was even seen enjoying the company of his partner Emma Slater.
