“Sitting out reading all your DMs about my last post,” Richards said. “It seems many of you have the same story and want to go down that path but aren’t sure how. We are so programmed to think that we need to drink when we go out to socialize. Many of us are just on autopilot. And so many of us are used to being completely absent these days.”

“Today marks one year alcohol-free for me,” Richards began. “Some things made me come to the conclusion that I didn’t want to drink. First of all, I didn’t feel like it had the place I wanted it to.”

“I never put a time frame on when I will drink again or say IF I will drink. I know I’ve never felt better physically or clearer mentally,” Richards continued. “I’ve learned that I still overshare, but at least I don’t have the ‘anxiety’ of thinking about it. I’ve learned I still do stupid things sometimes and beat myself up about it.”

The bravo star noted that her decision was “opposed by some”, but she isn’t throwing in the towel, noting that her peers are “mainly supportive”.
