Las Vegas teens suspected of running down former police chief while he was riding his bike were on crime spree: report

Two Las Vegas teenagers accused of intentionally hitting a bicyclist were on a two-hour crime spree when they killed the retired police officer, according to a report.

The accused drivers Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16, are accused of stealing three vehicles, committing housebreaking and also trying to kill another cyclist, KLAS reported, citing sources and public records.

The couple faces manslaughter charges in the death of Andreas “Andy” Probst, 64, a former California police chief who was riding his bicycle in a marked lane in northwest Las Vegas last month when Ayala intentionally hit him with a car, authorities said.

The vehicle was stolen.

About half an hour before Probst’s murder, the pair allegedly tried to hit another rider and steal two more cars, which then crashed into each other near a shopping plaza, KLAS reported.
