Late Aaron Carter’s Sister Reportedly Detained For Drug Possession And Shoplifting

Nick & Aaron Carter’s sister, Bobbie Jean, has landed in legal hot water.

Police busted the 41-year-old man after he allegedly shoplifted several items from an arts and crafts store in Florida last weekend. His condition quickly escalated after a powerful synthetic opioid drug was found in his possession.

Bobbie Jean Carter Out on Bond After Shoplifting Arrest

Bobbie Jean was arrested and charged with one count of retail theft and possession of fentanyl on Saturday in Hernando County, Florida. The trouble began after he was caught stealing $55 worth of stickers and other craft items from Hobby Lobby in Brooksfield, Florida, prompting the store’s loss prevention team to call the appropriate authorities.

According to the police report obtained by Page Six, he was escorted by police to the office where he allegedly “reached into his wallet in a panic, pulled out a powder blue container and threw it under the LP (loss prevention) desk.” The case is said to contain 0.8 grams of purple powder and 1.3 grams of white powder.

It was later confirmed, through field testing, that fentanyl was present in the purple powder. Bobbie Jean was later reportedly arrested and immediately placed on suicide watch following her threat to “kill” herself on the way to prison.

The outlet reiterated that his arrest record shows he was charged with one count of retail theft [shoplifting] and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance [fentanyl]. Bobbie Jean was held on a $500 bond for the retail theft charge and is expected to present her case in court on July 10.

For the possession of a controlled substance charge, the Carter brothers were held on $2,000 bond and are expected in court on July 13. Despite being embroiled in the trademark substance abuse issues that have plagued the Carter family for years, Bobbie Jean has managed to stay out of the limelight, unlike her more famous siblings, making it nearly impossible to find out about her personal life.

She is the second child and first daughter of her parents — Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth [née Spaulding]. In addition to being the sister of Nick, a member of the beloved boy band Backstreet Boys, Bobbie has three siblings — sister Leslie and twin brothers Angel and the late Aaron.

He also has two siblings, Virginia Marie, Taelyn Dobson, and Kaden Brent, from his late father’s other marriage. While Virginia is from Robert’s first marriage, Taelyn and Kaden are from his third marriage.

So far, Bobbie has lost three family members — her father, Leslie and Aaron. Her father died at the age of 65 on 16 May 2017, and Leslie was found unconscious at the home of Robert and his third wife, Ginger Elrod in New York on 31 January 2012.

It was later confirmed that the 25-year-old man died of a drug overdose. Leslie’s death is similar to that of her brother Aaron, who was found unconscious in a bathtub at his California home last November. His death was eventually ruled an accidental drug overdose by the coroner.

It’s new parenthood, but it’s actually been really fun and exciting and given me a new chapter in my life. It was amazing.”

After revealing that this is her fifth attempt at rehab, the “I Want Candy” singer revealed that she decided to try again because she doesn’t want to “smoke weed anymore, I don’t have to.” Touching on other concerns that he had relapsed, Aaron explained that even though he hasn’t, he hopes rehab will help him deal with his triggers.
