Although Legendary singer Traci Braxton is gone, she is always in the hearts of her loved ones.
Exactly one year ago, the “Last Call” singer passed away after a private battle with cancer. The deceased is survived by his mother, father, five siblings, husband, and son.

The Braxton family took turns honoring their late sister, daughter and co-workers. Older sister Toni Braxton started a series of tributes on Instagram. Alongside the message was a photo featuring all of the Braxton sisters dressed in black and denim.
The 55-year-old singer added her song, “Breath again,” to the image and wrote a warm tribute to her beloved sister. “One of my favorite pictures of my sister. I can hardly believe it’s been a year today. I miss you so much!” Toni wrote in the caption.
Trina Braxton followed with a tribute to her late sister, emphasizing that she chose to focus on happy times. She posted a collage of solo images of her beloved sister captured in different outfits and wrote her message in the caption.
Trina wrote, “Today I celebrate you. I have no montages to display. I don’t have a sad soliloquy. Today I choose to remember all the happiness and Traci-ness you have brought into my life, our family’s life, and those around you. I love you. I remember you. I miss you. Rest in peace my sister and my beloved hummingbird.”
Afterwards, Towanda Braxton shared a tribute to her late sister. “I can’t believe it’s been a year already,” Towanda wrote on her Instagram, “I really miss your physical presence but I’m so thankful that I have memories and documented ‘Traci-isms’ to last more than a lifetime. “
The touching message continued, “I love you…Miss you physically…but like Trina said in her post, I’ve also decided to hold on and remember how great our Traci was! #hummingbird #tracibraxton.”
Among the various tributes, the matriarch of the Braxton family, Evelyn Braxton, was not left behind. He wrote a long tearful note for his daughter.
Evelyn began the first part of her message, writing, “Dear Tray, Even though you are not here in the flesh, you are here in spirit and in my mind and heart you will always be here. It’s been a year since you rested with God, I know you are safe. I know you lean back and probably enjoy your time with God, but I miss you so much.”
She then reminisced about Traci’s birth, expressing her gratitude for giving birth to the late singer. Evelyn stated that even though she and Traci had their flaws, like most people, she always loved her.
“I loved you more than you knew at the end of your life, and I held you in my arms and shook you one last time. I am so grateful that God allowed me to see you take your first and last breath.”
The parents continued in the second part by quoting Traci’s favorite Bible verse, Psalm number 23. Evelyn ended the Bible quote by writing, “And Traci you dwell in the house of God and shine before Him.”
The “Lifeline” singer’s husband, Kevin Surratt, also paid special tribute to her. He shared a clip featuring him and his wife, adding that he misses their good times.
The doting couple began their heartwarming message, “Also [sic] waking up the last 48 hours #birthday#23 #thanksgiving #24 is so hard!!! But what really helps is getting to know you!!!”
He recalled how they stayed together despite the “naysayers” and loved his late wife in closing, writing, “Happy Holidays #TraRatt @therealtracibraxton I truly miss you with all my heart…, and you know what I do. #loveyouforever #thetruthwillsetyoufree…… people who know us without knowing the real truth!!! #riptracibraxton.”
Toni Braxton Delivers News of Her Sister, Traci Braxton’s Death
Fans will recall that the sad news of the “Broken Things” singer’s death was confirmed by his beloved sister, Toni. According to The Blast, “Un-break my Heart” spread the word on Twitter and Instagram.
On Twitter, she wrote, “Traci passed this morning as the snow fell, our angel is now a snowflake. We ask that you respect our privacy as we plan to send her home with love, celebrating her life. We are family forever. Love, The Braxton Family .”
While on her Instagram account, she announced, “It is with regret that we inform you of the passing of our sister, Traci. Needless to say, she was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and a respected entertainer. We will miss him very much.”
