Earlier this year, during a London press screening for her Netflix movie “You People,” starring Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy and Nia Long, she exclusively shared details about her life as a single mom.
She said in the podcast that I’m a single mom, so I want to be very realistic with them. Life is hard; I don’t want to cushion everything for them. I want them to be ready for life,” he said candidly on the podcast.
The 38-year-old actress explained that she bounces between two modes as a mother. In his words, “I think I’m a balanced person because sometimes I think I might be too soft, but I have moments where I’m like, ‘Hey, hey, hey, you guys, come on now. Let’s do this together -same.’ I guess I’m an old school mom.”

The mother of two talked about focusing on the good things in life when she said, “My kids are healthy, they’re happy, and I’m healthy. I am here. I have a chance to make it a good day. So I have to say it every day. I intend to make the best of what I have. I don’t want to ask God too much.”
Man Convicted of Killing Nipsey Hussle Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison
Following the death of the beloved father of two, Eric Holder Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder in July 2022. The dead rapper and his shooter used to belong to the same group, the Rollin’ 60s.
But eventually, Hussle grew into a well-known opponent of gun violence and a prominent figure in his neighborhood. The Blast reports that a Los Angeles courtroom sentenced Holder to 60 years in prison in February of this year.
The inmate attended his sentence wearing an orange prison uniform and remained stoic as they read out his sentence. He was also convicted of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter in which two people were injured when he attacked Hussle.
According to the publication, a friend of the late rapper gave an emotional speech, and the court read a letter from Holder’s father before Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke handed down the sentence.
Holder’s attorney, Aaron Jansen, had pushed for the conviction to be reduced, arguing that the shooting could only carry a sentence of either manslaughter or second-degree murder. But, in the end, the judge was unmoved as he delivered his decision to uphold the initial charges.
