The Orange County native recently received recognition from the County of Orange for helping shape Orange County’s punk rock scene and putting it on the map. He dedicated “40 years to the genre” and continues to shape it. As you know, Royer was an early punk rock pioneer, starting the OC punk music scene with humble roots in sunny Fullerton in Orange County. In the early 70s, he created and named Social Deviance with his high school friend Mike Ness.
