Although she vehemently denies the allegations, someone took to Lil Tay’s Instagram Stories on Tuesday, asserting that she was “abusive,” among other things.

On Tuesday, someone took to Lil Tay’s account to claim that her father was the one who created her death hoax.
“My abusive racist misogynist woman beat father faked my death,” she wrote alongside a photo of her father, Christopher J. Hope.
More than an hour later, it was followed by a photo of a handful with long black fingernails holding US passports. However, no words accompany the text.

On Wednesday, August 9, a statement was posted to his Instagram page, announcing the death of him and his brother. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Claire. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain,” one person wrote on Instagram. “This result was completely unexpected, and has taken us all by surprise.”
“His brother’s passing adds unimaginable sadness,” they continued, insinuating that his brother, 21-year-old Jason Tian, had also died. “In this time of great sadness, we ask for privacy as we grieve this tremendous loss, as the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Claire and her brother remain under investigation.”

About an hour after allegations that he faked his death started making headlines, Christopher Hope told TMZ that he was not “responsible” for creating the death hoax that went viral. “The person responsible for the Instagram post, as well as anyone repeating the completely false and libelous allegations in it, will almost certainly be the defendant in a defamation lawsuit,” he said.
“Everything stated is 100% false, and I believe that this should be clear to anyone who knows me or the long history of ridiculous and untrue statements made by various people who have taken control of Instagram accounts,” he added.

Many fans are wondering why Lil Tay took a day to announce to the world that he is still alive. “I want to explain that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I am truly heartbroken, and struggling to find the right words to say. It was a very traumatic 24 hours,” he told TMZ a day after his “death” made headlines.
“All day yesterday, I was bombarded with heartbreaking phone calls and endless tears from loved ones trying to sort this mess out,” he continued, explaining that his Instagram account had been compromised by a third party and was being used to “spread outrageous misinformation. and rumors about me, even my name is wrong.”
Lil Tay revealed that her name is not Claire Hope, as the post suggested, but Tay Tian, as she shares her mother and brother’s last name.

However, his former social media manager spoke to the Daily Mail shortly after the incident, claiming that either he or his brother was behind the viral death hoax. “When I learned about Lil Tay’s claims about his well-being, I was relieved that he was safe. However, I believe the reported hacking incident may not have happened,” he told the outlet.
“My rationale for this perspective is twofold: first, the recovery of compromised accounts on platforms like Meta/Instagram typically does not require a 24-hour period,” he added, although Meta later confirmed that his account had been hacked.
“Secondly, the actions of Lil Tay’s brother, who is known for his tendency to commit extreme acts, led me to hypothesize an alternative motive behind this incident,” he continued.

“At the same time, if the underlying motive is indeed to rekindle Lil Tay’s prominence in the public sphere, I think that such actions show a certain level of irresponsibility,” added Tsang. “It is important to consider the potential impact of using such tactics, particularly given their potential impact on wider audience perceptions and sentiment.”
Lil Tay’s brother, Jason, is still not keeping quiet about the incident.
