Linkin Park Is Releasing A New Song Featuring The Late Chester Bennington

Linkin Park is undoubtedly one of the greatest rock bands in music history. In the early 2000s, they surprised the whole world with their album ‘Meteora’, especially with ‘Numb’ which is the band’s most famous song. This song also had a remix with Jay-Z, which made it even more popular in the world.

In 2017, they released their last album together called “One More Light” in May and people were happy to see them back. But unfortunately, their singer Chester Bennington was not feeling well for a while, he suffered from severe depression, and the whole band knew it. That’s why, even though people thought he was better, he was found dead in his home in California. It was confirmed that the cause of his death was suicide. And after that, nothing really happened for the band, as Chester seemed irreplaceable. But after all these years, something new came from the group, a new song where Chester Bennington sang in it. And more than that, this song is a lost song that was created in the first place for the legendary album.

Linkin Park’s Unreleased Meteora Works

On Twitter, and it was a big surprise, it was revealed that Linkin Park will be releasing a new song with Chester Bennington singing on it. Titled “Lost”, the song is expected to be released on February 10, in conjunction with Meteora’s 20th anniversary.

And it was quite surprising. Because, if you didn’t know, the band’s member, Mike Shinoda, is a Twitch poet now, and whenever someone asks him a question about Linkin Park, he doesn’t have much to say: “The only Linkin Park news I have for you are… Yeah, we talk every few weeks — I talk to a guy, or a couple of guys, And there’s no tour, no music, no album in the pipeline. So remember that it doesn’t happen”.

He then continued: “I’m just going to say this much for now, I’m saying that because anytime the band says anything or does anything, everybody tries to start the hype train, and we, like, ‘No, no, no no. Don’t start the hype train.’ You’ll let yourself down. Don’t do that.” So it’s 100% clear, no song should have been released and usually, it’s the end of Linkin Park. But it seems they decided to please the fans one last time to remember their most famous album and also their friend and singer Chester Bennington.

No One Will Replace Chester Bennington

That was one of the rumors four years ago, just two years after losing Chester Bennington. Rumor has it Linkin Park is looking for a replacement singer. Mike Shinoda could not hold this false information any longer and decided to clarify it on his Twitter: “Let me clarify the rumors: we are not looking for a new singer, and if it happens organically, I will be open . It seems quite obvious, but I think some people find it difficult to understand”. So Mike completely dismissed the rumors, and it was for the best because Linkin Park had a hard time and still have a hard time through the death of their friend. It happened at a time when Chester should be feeling better, so it really surprised them.

However, while no one will replace Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda said the band is still open to finding a new singer, but not a replacement, and he made that clear in an interview with Rock Antenne: “That’s not my goal right now. . I think it must happen naturally. And if we find somebody who’s a great person who we think is a good fit with a good personality and a good style, then I can see trying to do some things with somebody… I don’t want to feel like we’re replacing Chester.”

Afterwards, he added: “I know other guys, they love to get on stage, they love to be in the studio, and to not do that would be – I don’t know – almost unhealthy. If doing that means we have to have some others in the mix to do it and do it well, then we’ll do it… But, as I said before, it has to happen naturally. I’m not going to run out and put up a ‘vocalist wanted’ poster.” So if we understand it well, Linkin Park is open to finding new singers, but it has to happen naturally, like Chester Bennington when the whole group meets each other.
