Megan Fox’s latest move to defy SAG-AFTRA guidelines on Halloween costumes did not go down well with “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter.
Fox sent the internet and the Halloween world into a frenzy when she shared a photo of her controversial costume and tagged SAG-AFTRA in her caption. Many fans and critics voiced Walker’s displeasure, however, Fox is not the only Hollywood star to defy Halloween costume guidelines.
Lisa Ann Walter Not Impressed With Megan Fox’s Latest Antics
Fox ended up going against the guidelines SAG-AFTRA set for its members regarding Halloween celebrations. The union has urged its members not to dress up as TV and film characters from well-known studios to deny them and their streamers free publicity and influence.
The defiant Fox appeared in a “Kill Bill: Vol. 1 inspired costume” with fiancee Machine Gun Kelly on Friday night at the Casamigos Halloween Party. The actress turned teenage assassin Gogo Yubari while her lover looked dapper in Una Thurman’s blood-stained yellow tracksuit.
Walter wasn’t a fan of Fox’s decision as he cited Pop Crave’s tweet on X (formerly Twitter) about the actress’ outfit and write:
“Rebels indeed. Keep posturing for st— sh–, beautiful woman. In the meantime, we will work 10 hours a day – unpaid – to get a fair contract to basic contract recipients (PS-the post answers member questions. Nobody cares about children’s clothes. Only high professionals at fancy parties. Like Megan) .”
Walter’s reaction was met by different opinions, which were clearly expressed in the comments and quotes section.
One user responded in support of Walter and wrote, “Catch him, Lisa! I don’t know why people who are not on the line or working during this strike think they have a right to complain.” Another critic equally condemned her choice of clothing and wrote, “The costume doesn’t give either.”
The 37-year-old still has loyal fans in his corner, as another user wrote, “The costume someone wears has 0 bearing on what you’re supposed to be striving for and has nothing to do with you “working” 10 hours a day – unpaid – in position you choose to do. Crying someone else a river,” while a rather stunned user quipped, “Halloween rules? What.”
“I certainly didn’t foresee this reaction to the dress code, it makes sense to me and doesn’t seem like a big deal. I think Halloween is like the most important thing ever for Hollywood,” wrote a sarcastic X user who couldn’t contain his anger.
A fairly neutral user simply asked for more knowledge on the issue as they wrote, “Can someone explain to me why celebrities doing these costumes is wrong? Like there’s a rule about it.”
Mandy Moore Tagged SAG-AFTRA Guidelines Misguided Priorities
Fox isn’t the first actor to flout SAG-AFTRA rules. Earlier in the month, Mandy Moore challenged the body to focus on better things.
The “This Is Us” actress expressed her views on her Instagram story by uploading a photo of a magazine cover instructing members not to dress like a character from the company Struck. In Moore’s words:
“We ask that you negotiate in good faith on our behalf. So many people across every facet of this industry have made tremendous sacrifices over the months. Go back to the table and get a fair deal so everyone can get back to work. Please and thank you.”
The actor went on to reveal that despite his 20-year career in Hollywood, his salary is still very small, which is why he joined the strike. In fact, her streaming residuals from “This is Us,” where she channeled Rebecca Pearson for 6 years, garnered little scrutiny despite her stellar success.
According to The Blast, Moore shared that she had very lean years where she couldn’t get a job and had to rely on scraps from past jobs to help her survive, which is pretty much the same for other actors in her position.
SAG-AFTRA Calls Off Pickets for Safety Reasons

Before their Halloween announcement, the body announced that all pickets set for “Friday the 13th” in the New York and Los Angeles areas had been canceled. This decision follows the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, which began on October 7.
The union insists that it is not related to the strike but solely for security purposes, as Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal has announced worldwide protests on Friday, October 13, in support of the terrorist attacks launched against Israel.
Following the union strike, the New York Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department also issued safety statements to residents. Although there was no threat at the time, security agencies stressed their commitment to closely monitor the developing situation and increase patrols to be more cautious.
Per The Blast, New York City Mayor Eric Adams shared that the police department has been directed to share resources with schools and places of worship to ensure everyone is safe and New York remains a peaceful place. The LAPD also released an official statement on its social media page, which read:
“The Los Angeles Police Department is aware of recent statements that call for action as they relate to the conflict in the Middle East. We have no information about any specific or credible threats to the City of Los Angeles, but we continue to assess the situation for any potential impact on our community. We are closely monitoring this event and coordinating with Federal, State and local partners regarding information sharing.”
The SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14, and the union maintained its position in a dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The strike marks the first time in 63 years that Hollywood writers and actors have downed tools at the same time.
