In a recent interview on Audacy’s “Mercedes in the Morning” radio show, LL Cool J voiced his thoughts on the recent incident involving country star Miranda Lambert berating fans for taking pictures during her performance in Las Vegas. In a playful tone, the 55-year-old rapper spoke to Lambert, encouraging him to lighten up and embrace the passion of his fans.
“Miranda, get over it, baby,” quipped the rapper, addressing the show’s host. He mentioned that he will not call concertgoers to take pictures during his performance. “They are fans. It’s a fan,” he added, per Many people.
The “Mama Said Knock You Out” singer shares a valuable perspective on the relationship between performers and their audience. “Your job as an artist is to create art,” he explained. “How people choose to interact with the art or engage with it or appreciate it is up to them.”
He continued, “You have to let the fans do what they want to do. What about the thousands of people who don’t? What, do you have rules? No yellow shirt!”

Etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore also shared her two cents on the incident, explaining what constitutes proper concert etiquette in an interview with Many people.
“When you’re at a concert… respect the artists performing because not only are you paying a lot of money to be there, other people are too. So ethics is about taking into account how your behavior affects others,” Whitmore emphasizes.
He went on to explain, “So if it hinders a performer’s ability to perform or if it hinders other people’s enjoyment, it becomes a problem. It doesn’t matter what the fault is, that’s the point.”
Whitmore highlights some important “don’ts” when it comes to concert etiquette, including refraining from flash photography, avoiding excessive cell phone use and refraining from throwing objects at other people or performers.
