London cops arrest terror suspect Daniel Khalife following intrepid prison escape

Terrorist suspect Daniel Khalife – an ex-soldier who snuck out of a London prison by strapping himself to the bottom of a van while dressed as a chef – has been arrested, authorities said.

Officers arrested Khalife Saturday, shortly before 11 a.m. local time, or 6 a.m. in New York, in the Chiswick area of West London, The Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

“We thank the public and the media for their support with information & appeals,” police said.

Khalife had been working the morning shift in the prison kitchen on Wednesday and was wearing a chef’s uniform of a white T-shirt and red plaid pants when he lashed himself with a rope to the bottom of a departing food delivery van, police said.

The manhunt quickly alerted Britain’s ports and airports, including London Heathrow – Britain’s busiest airport – where travelers face delays due to extra security checks amid fears Khalife will try to escape.
