NFL star Antonio Gates owes his estranged wife Sasha Gates child support amid their divorce.
According to court documents, obtained by The Blast, Sasha filed a request to have her earnings withheld by the Los Angeles Chargers until the full amount is paid.

In the filing, Sasha claims that the soccer player owes more than 12 weeks of back child support payments for their children, Ayla Lee Gates, 9, and Aven Tone Gates, 8.

At this point, Gate’s ex-wife requested that the Chargers garnish her estranged husband’s wages, deducting $20,000 per month to cover current child support payments and $5,000 per month in back child support. In total, he wants the football team to cut $25,00o per month.

Before the divorce, Antonio opened up about the struggles of marriage and raising children while playing professional sports claiming “It’s very difficult because of the demands of this profession.”
He continued, “It makes it hard. But, I’m a big believer in having to find a way to balance it all. That’s what a good dad does. But it’s really hard. It’s one thing to be on a team, but it’s a it’s a different thing when you’re trying to be at the top of what you do. It presents a different dynamic and challenge.”
The ‘Real Dirty Dancing’ contestant explained that she works hard to find a balance between work and family. “You have to find a way to make time for your family when the time comes. I structured it. For me, that structure is a form in my opinion that is effective,” he said. “In whatever you do or in whatever relationship you have (it works). On certain nights we will do something with the kids. Friday night is movie night. But for the most part, one day a week we have dinner night and movie night. If we are tired, we will do something else. We have to take it one day at a time.
