Louie Anderson’s Family Claims He Was Victim Of Elder Abuse

The family of comedian Louie Anderson claims he was the victim of “elder abuse” in his final days, resulting in a drastic change in the distribution of his wealth.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Lisa Anderson – Louie’s sister – filed a petition with the court asking the judge to overturn a late change in the comedian’s trust, which changed payments to family members and friends.

In the shocking filing, Lisa accused several of Anderson’s associates of conspiring to switch legal documents that originally paid a higher percentage of money and royalties from her work to her siblings. It should be noted, Louie did not have children during his life.

According to the legal documents, the update makes a major change that “reduces the gifts” the comedian made to his siblings. Lisa described the specific allegations, claiming that a group of people (including Abraham and Ahmos) entered her hospital room after asking her to leave. He claimed he could hear “voices yelling and screaming at Louie telling him to sign some documents,” including “this is it! You have to sign NOW.”

The update includes a signature from Louie, who his sister said was a “scribble” the group forced him to sign because he “couldn’t hold a pen in his hand and write at the time.”

The filing includes an accounting of his finances, and says he has a residual income of about 120,000 a year minus commissions.

It should be noted, that the original trust allegedly made Abraham “his friend and lover” the trustee, and he gifted his property to Christine E. Geisness (Abrahams’ ex-wife.) All other assets were gifted to a “sibling trust” including “a substantial amount of intellectual property” related to his performance as an actor, comedian and writer. The updated version removed the brothers as “sole recipients” and added Ahmos, and Abraham gave them each 30%.

Ultimately, Anderson’s sister said she was forced to make this change to her last wish during a period in which her “mental and physical condition had deteriorated so much that she could no longer withstand their undue influence.” Additionally, she claims her cell phone was taken in her final days in an attempt to “separate her from her family.”
