“Love Is Blind” stars Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson tied the knot at the end of season 2 but ended up calling it quits a year later.
While the divorce seemed good at first, it looks like things are starting to turn sour. After Nick spoke to various media outlets about the divorce, Danielle accused her ex of trying to “control the narrative” surrounding their split in a volatile Instagram post that fans only described as “confusing.”

In a sharply worded Instagram post that says a lot and a little at the same time, Danielle Ruhl claims that Nick Thompson and his team are trying to “silence” her, claiming that her divorce filing cost her the opportunity to appear on another reality show.
In the caption, Danielle encouraged her followers to “Please read.. bc I’m not going to be controlled anymore. I wish I didn’t have to go into detail. I’d rather give half of what I have for freedom.”
“What he said in public (outside of social media) but in the media. The worst things happen behind the scenes.,” he continued. “It’s sad again, I told him that I would support him to be on the new show.”
“Just because he doesn’t talk on social media doesn’t mean there aren’t worse things going on behind the scenes,” he added. “I proactively say this because I know what he has with the media, etc. [sic].”
Danielle Says Nick’s Team Warned Things Could Get ‘Messy’

In a lengthy Instagram post, Danielle wrote, “I have to say this because Nick is going to extreme lengths to put me down, silence me, and control the narrative because he wants to go on another reality show and blame me for potentially not being able to.”
“I was warned by his team that this could get messy and that certain things of mine would be at stake or taken away if I blocked him on social media,” he claimed.

“He proactively went to the store to make false statements,” she claimed, possibly referring to her previous interview with PEOPLE.
“But on top of that, there were tactics that Nick took to control the narrative, beyond just money, and emailing me blaming me for potentially ruining his chances of going on another show,” she claimed. “I didn’t know he applied and contacted people to make sure it didn’t ruin his chances.”

Danielle went on to say that Nick was “proactively trying to get media attention because he blamed me for the divorce even though I filed because I knew it was in my best interest. He said he was hoping the whole time he was hoping he would get a director’s deal.”
It’s unclear what directorial deal he’s talking about, but Nick launched his own podcast shortly after their divorce filing became public.

“He can keep trying and silence me… or keep punishing me for doing what’s best for me,” Danielle continued. “But I hope people realize that he enjoys the negative comments and tries to keep turning them into a storyline that makes him look like a ‘savior.'”
Danielle has previously spoken out about the “bad edits” she received on the show, which focused mainly on her struggles with mental health.

Danielle ended her post by saying, “And it’s going to be a higher effort than divorce,” though it’s not clear what she meant. “When this comes to fruition, I will say more,” he added. “[I] hope it doesn’t get to this point. But if anyone had the full context, they would understand.”
Many users are confused by his cryptic posts. “This post says a lot and nothing at the same time…Hopefully, you can make a video or podcast to explain in more depth because I’m confused. You deserve to speak the truth,” commented one follower.
When another fan told her that she should take a screenshot, Danielle assured her that she did.
