Micah Lussier is channeling all his inner strength!
The 27-year-old reality star rose to fame as a member of “Love Is Blind’s” fourth season cast. The marketing manager received a lot of criticism for his behavior, friendliness, and frequent use of the word ‘like’, to name a few factors.
[Major spoilers about the season four finale are ahead!]
Lussier is engaged in a sight unseen to environmental scientist Paul Peden. The couple finally said “I do not” at the altar during the season finale.
After the finale aired, Lussier took to his Instagram to reassure his followers that he would not be disappointed by the heartbreaking conclusion of his relationship with his ex-fiancé.
Lussier and Peden Not Married With ‘Love Is Blind’
Lussier and Peden often experience on-screen obstacles in their relationship. During their first meeting, Lussier’s close friends were not shy about expressing their distaste for Lussier’s men.
He also confronted his co-star, Irina Solomonova, about his flirtatious behavior towards Peden during the cast’s pool party. The two discussed the matter during a heated dinner earlier this season.
After Lussier persuaded his fiancee to make a final decision about the fate of their relationship, the couple ended up not tying the knot.
The two would later discuss the outcome of their relationship in an interview with Us Weekly.
Lussier explained his reason for asking Peden to speak first at the altar to the shop.
“It’s kind of a last chance [for Paul] to show me that you are willing to take the risk and jump,” he said. “And I think asking him to answer first is the only way to do it. I was worried that maybe, he would say yes if I said yes- and I wanted him to answer from the heart,” Lussier continued. “And I felt it was like, ‘Okay, show me or don’t.’
Lussier also openly shared his grief over his ex’s final response.
“…But I didn’t want to talk to him at the time,” he said, referring to Peden’s attempts to explain himself. “And I felt so much anger and, like, so much sadness, and whether it was wrong or not, I didn’t want to see it. But I’m glad he showed he cared. I mean, he always cares,” he added. “I never doubted it.”
Lussier Declares He’ll Be ‘Ok’ In Emotional Instagram Post
Peden’s ex-fiancé will commemorate the season finale on Instagram by posting a black and white photo of herself.
“Listen, I’ve been taking care of myself my whole life,” she captioned the post. “I’ll be fine. [heart emoji]”
Lussier’s followers had plenty to talk about in the comments section.
Sophomore season alum Shayne Jansen offered his two cents on Lussier and Peden’s marriage decision. “Both Paul and Micah should have no doubts. That’s the problem,” he cares.
“It was manipulative & very calculated to get him to answer first,” one follower wrote.
“You have to work things out with you before you marry anyone,” another follower commented. “It’s hard to believe your ‘crying’ at the end. You know him; you know he is not playing with you at all and is consistent and transparent. He tries to see the best in you because he likes you, but your attitude [sic] during the trip was unreal. Won’t talk about the ‘guy who laughs when you’re (supposedly) heartbroken because he knows you better than I do, and he knows it’s all an act [sic]… My opinion. Sorry.”
Many other commenters criticized Lussier’s friend, Shelby, who, as we mentioned earlier, made no secret of her dislike for Peden.
“When I saw Shelby laughing at your pain and ‘wishing it would be like that,’ it finally made sense why you were the way you were with the other girl during the pod episode. You were in a toxic relationship with your so-called best friend. She brought out the most bad in you, and Paul brings out the best because I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels better about you during later episodes. He’s the worst friend anyone could ever have. Please take it RIGHT [sic] take care of yourself by cutting him, or anyone like him out of your life and go to therapy to learn to treat yourself well, unlike Shelby treated you,” another follower concluded.
Lussier and Peden are sure to have plenty to talk about during their live reunion this weekend! It will air on Netflix Sunday, April 16.
