‘Love Is Blind’s Zack Goytowski Dishes More Details About ‘Embarrassing’ ‘Irina’ Song

“Love Is Blind” contestant Zack Goytowski is setting the record straight and showing the receipt!

During the fourth season, the 32-year-old Criminal Defense attorney proposed to Irina Solomonova in the Netflix dating series’ signature pod. However, the couple’s romance is quickly destroyed as soon as the two meet face to face. Goytowski then reunited with his potential first choice, Bliss Poureetzadi. As of this writing, the team is engaged!

Goytowski’s dating life in the pod wasn’t the only memorable aspect of his time on the show. While he was still chasing Solomonova, he decided to serenade her with an “original” song. However, few devotees of “Love Is Blind” recognize an important element about Goytowski’s praise of his first love; the song is not original!

Goytowski’s Song For Solomonova Is A Cover!

The Blast previously covered many TikTok creators who discovered the snafu and pointed out the mistake.

Goytowski covered a song by early-aughts alternative group Ludo. Countless TikTokers will feature clips of “Sara’s Song” alongside Goytowski’s singing.

After the news gained enough traction online, the “Love Is Blind” star took to Instagram to address the matter.

Taking to his Instagram comments, Goytowski wrote, “Ludo is my favorite band. And that’s my favorite song from them. That and the whole ‘broken bride’ album,” he began. “I credit the song to them,” he explained. “I sang the whole song from beginning to end. It was only cut off probably because everyone would turn off the TV after 30 seconds,” he continued. “It’s not the original. i change[d] some lyrics. Probably one of my five most embarrassing moments,” Goytowski concluded. (via Elite Daily)

What More Does Goytowski Have to Say About His ‘Embarrassing’ Declaration of Love?

Earlier this week, Goytowski took to the ‘gram again to share more insights with viewers.

“Hey guys, this is Zack from ‘Love Is Blind’ here,” he told fans in a video sit-down. “There was a scandal surrounding me,” he continued.

“Zack Goytowski, ‘plagiarist,’ ‘thief,'” the reality star went on to say before showing a TikTok about the situation.

“They started from some well-intentioned fans of one of my favorite bands, and it just snowballed,” he explained before showing a screenshot of an article written about the ‘scandal.’

“I have for you here an ‘exclusive’ never seen recording from the pod, in one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, but not because I plagiarized the song,” Goytowski said before showing an unedited clip of the scene.

“I wrote a song for you,” Goytowski told Solomonova in a clip that viewers saw on Netflix. “It’s not an original song, it’s one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, but I’ve changed the lyrics a little bit for you,” he continued. This specific part of the exchange was edited out of the episode.

“Look, Ludo,” Goytowski said as the clip returned to his explanation. “They are an amazing band, and they have great music. It’s one of my favorite bands. Oh, and yes, I have a few more receipts too,” she continued before cutting her scene in the upcoming live-action reunion trailer.

“Love Is Blind” viewers are sure to gather in the comments section of the post to discuss the video!

“I’m so glad they gave you this footage. People need to get a life,” commented one fan.

“I saw some people saying you gave credit, but it was cut, so you have some real fans ready to see the real story,” another fan reassured him.

“People love to take anything and turn it into something,” said another follower. “Sorry, you have to deal with that. Well taken care of!”

“[laughing emojis] Thanks for this, and I don’t know why people forget that shows are heavily edited. We only got a glimpse of what happened,” commented one fan.

“I love how people try to lawyer you up because you’ll only lawyer them back [skeleton emoji],” one fan joked, adding the hashtag referencing the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”

“Imagine trying to attack a lawyer, immediately L. Shut up,” said another fan.

“1) It’s not the scandal I think it is 2) It’s the scandal we all need. People don’t think about how the producers pick and choose different footage to follow all the couples and the fact that you don’t 100% know what the relationship is like,” said one fan. “Kudos, Zack! [heart and praise emojis.]

Episodes nine through 11 of season four are now streaming on Netflix! The live reunion will air on Sunday, April 14. (via Men’s Health)
