The television personality got a “yes!” when he popped the big question to his longtime girlfriend, Caryn Chandler. He and former employee Roloff began dating in 2017, with the former moving in with his woman four years later.

Congratulations have begun to ring in the Roloff household following the rise of their patriarch’s new relationship with Chandler. News of the engagement, which comes nearly seven years after his divorce from ex-wife Amy was finalized, was shared by TLC after Matt sprayed them, saying:
“After six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me and she said yes! Our plan is to enjoy our engagement and we look forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024.”

The outlet shared an image of the excited couple posing with the rock giant in full view via Instagram. In the caption, the cable channel wrote, “Yes! #LPBW couple Matt and Caryn are engaged.”
Despite the cozy atmosphere, the comment section was divided, with some people taking opposing sides. One fan replied, “May they have many years of happiness!! Congratulations on your engagement,” and a second commented, “I’ve been waiting for this day. Congratulations to you both. Matt, you’ve found yourself a wonderful woman [sic].”
“Congratulations! You both deserve to be happy. She is a sweet and kind woman,” a third person wrote. Meanwhile, others couldn’t help but point out problems with Chandler and Matt’s union, with one stating, “It’s like he’s just after money, reality TV fame, etc. & with his big ego & selfishness; he just wants a medium-sized “trophy” wife.”
Another critic claimed, “No one cares. He chose her and the farm over her children. He is sick. His children deserve a better father.” Luckily, several people came to the couple’s defense when one typed, “Everyone deserves to be happy. Amy continued. So it’s only natural that Matt does the same. It’s called moving forward with life.”
A second supporter declared that the “Little People, Big World” star is more “compatible” with Chandler than with his ex-wife, adding, “I think Caryn appreciates Matt’s creativity and lets him be who he is, and she lets him be who he is.”
It’s worth noting that Amy has moved in with real estate agent Chris Marek after they met at a puff and singles drawing night. They got engaged in 2019 and walked down the aisle in a sweet ceremony held at Roloff Farms two years later. Meanwhile, Matt and Amy, who have been married for more than two decades, share four children — twins Jeremy and Zach, daughter Molly, and son Jacob.

With wedding bells ringing in the Roloff house, Connected released an article detailing the timeline of their relationship. According to the outlet, Matt and Chandler revealed to the world that they were an item during the season 17 episode “Little People, Big World.” At the time, the 61-year-old entrepreneur stated:
“Caryn has been the farm manager at Roloff Farms for several years and we have a great working relationship. And we are officially dating.”
He went on to share that he’s done “a lot of soul searching” to determine what he “really wants in life.” And since this woman offered “great companionship,” which he apparently lacked with his first wife, he decided to give the relationship a try.
It looks like she made the right choice because she and Chandler bought a house in Arizona in 2018, although they still have their own properties. As it turns out, Mattonly plans to live in the new location for four months each year.
Things continue to go well for the lovebirds, and the mother-of-two hinted at the next phase of their lives when producers asked if getting married soon was on either party’s mind in 2021.
Although Matt teased that they won’t walk down the aisle until at least 2022, his then-girlfriend said, “We’re not. He didn’t ask me.” Regardless of their love, their relationship has been plagued with tension and family drama.
Jeremy and Zach have speculated that Chandler played a role in their father’s refusal to sell them part of his farm when they made an offer. In May 2022, Zach and his wife Tori revealed during the show’s season 23 premiere that they had separated from Matt and Caryn.
