Reese, 21, is Reebok’s first major NIL signee and the first signing under President of Basketball, O’Neal, and new Vice President, Allen Iverson, as part of the brand’s long-term strategy to reclaim its position as a dominant player in sports and sports culture.

“I am honored to be working closely with one of my old mentors, Shaq, along with a brand that I have admired since I was a child. It means the world to me that they trust me to extend their legacy to a new generation,” said Reese.

“Together, I think we have a great opportunity to do things differently, to inspire people to explore and express themselves unapologetically, and to show them how to look and feel good while doing it.”

Reese will be featured in lifestyle campaigns and performance products and will work with Reebok’s product team to help influence future designs, as well as his own collections. Reebok will also partner with Reese to support the recently launched Angel C. Reese Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering girls and women through education, sports and more.

Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky noted Reese’s unique style.

“Angel has a unique blend of swagger and unapologetic style combined with off-the-charts athleticism,” he said. “His personality and personal irreverence helped change college sports and inspired an entire generation. We are very excited to partner with Angel and look forward to further fueling our presence in sports culture together.”

Krinsky also talked about this first step into basketball for Reebok, and how they made a “huge statement” by signing women’s college players.

“Beyond announcing Shaq in a managerial role, this is our first step into basketball. Our first step is not men’s NBA players, it’s women’s college players,” Krinsky said.

“It’s a big statement about how we see the landscape. Also, this is a statement about the type of personality we are looking for. He’s rude, he has a love-me-or-hate-me attitude, and he’s very strong-willed. He is just as influential off the court as he is on the court.”

O’Neal explained why he chose Reese for his first appointment as President of Basketball.

“For my first appointment in this role, it has to be GOAT. No one has had a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese,” shared O’Neal. “Angel is rocking the space, just like Reebok has been doing all along. I am proud to welcome Angel into the Reebok family and look forward to seeing how he will carry the brand’s legacy to the next generation.”

O’Neal welcomed Reese to the brand with two Instagram posts.

In one post, he was quoted as saying, “No one has had a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese.” A second IG post welcomed Reese into the Reebok family as “the first Reebok basketball athlete under Shaq & Iverson.”

Reese took to the comments section to leave a simple but effective message, “???.”

One fan wrote, “That’s what happened! Reebok will enter its new dynasty under Shaq and AI. This is great for them!” and another added, “A strong move Dr. O’Neil and Mr. Iverson. ❤️”

Starting today, October 17, fans can purchase the limited-edition celebratory tee at Reebok.com, as well as view Reese’s first curated collection, “Angel’s Picks.”
