According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, the “La Isla Bonita” singer’s brother died from the effects of different health problems. These issues include oropharyngeal cancer, a disease usually caused by smoking.
In Anthony’s case, tobacco use was listed as contributing to his death. However, the death of the singer’s younger sister was caused by respiratory failure and throat cancer.
The deceased died at the age of 66 while receiving treatment at a Michigan nursing facility in February. According to the news outlet, the 24-time ASCAP Pop Award recipient paid his brother’s hospital bills while there.
The entertainer’s actions prove the 64-year-old has a forgiving heart, as he doesn’t have the best relationship with Anthony. His brother has previously been on record for slamming media personalities along with other members of their family.

As for the last rites of the deceased, the file revealed that the “Virgin Like” artist’s brother was cremated after his death. The late Anthony did not have an easy life, allegedly battling alcoholism and homelessness before his death.

According to The Blast, the mother of six took to her Instagram story with a post of her childhood at a party with her late brother. In the black-and-white image, the “Who’s That Girl” star draws an arrow to help fans identify Anthony from the crowd.

Before the “Hung Up” singer shared her sweet dedication to Anthony, her brother-in-law, Joe Henry, announced the tragic news on his Instagram page. The husband of Madonna’s sister Melanie shared a black and white photo of the deceased alongside the unfortunate update.
