The reality TV family is in crisis after learning that their eldest sister Cardwell has been diagnosed with a rare form of adrenal carcinoma. Stage 4 cancer was in his liver, kidneys, and lungs.
He was diagnosed in January and recently underwent his first round of chemotherapy. The mother of two didn’t immediately share the news for obvious reasons, but Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s younger sister recently shared a message about the devastating news.
“This is what I mean when I say you never really know what someone is going through at home. It doesn’t matter how famous they are. Yes, I’m very famous, but normal things happen to my family and me, and you all need to realize that as soon as possible.”
The 17-year-old’s confirmation of her sister’s illness is the only one we’ve gotten so far besides Cardwell sharing a selfie on her IG story of her showing up at the hospital—reminiscent of her first chemo treatment a few years ago.

The newlywed cut short his marital bliss to be there for his daughter. follow TMZ, an insider shared that Mama June is “stepping up.” She “instantly knew she needed to be there for her daughter after the diagnosis, and felt like the past is the past.”

The past time the source is referring to is when Mama June was in a relationship with Mark McDaniel in 2021. This is the man Cardwell allegedly identified to her mother as someone who sexually assaulted her at some point in her life.
For the sake of her sanity, the 28-year-old decided to back away from her mother and the new man in her life. Plus, he had two daughters to protect.
Mama June has broken up with that guy and met and married a new guy named Justin Stroud.

Although Cardwell didn’t share much information about his diagnosis, he did mention one of the most significant drawbacks of his treatment. Her hair has come out in “lumps,” she revealed. She shared a photo of her hair and a ball curled up in bed.
She shared a selfie from her hospital bed and looked very excited. Thankfully, he and his mother made up before she learned the terrible diagnosis, having formed a stronger bond for at least a year.
Cardwell also shared that he knew something was wrong when he had terrible stomach pains for a while, which led to the diagnosis. Cardwell is the mother of two daughters, ages 10 and 7. They regularly appear on her social media, and the reality star expressed her pride in their achievements.
