A man is demanding answers after claiming he dropped off his car more than a year ago at a car dealership that apparently no longer exists.
Oklahoma resident Micah Jones dropped off his car at Jones Auto in March of last year after crashing it into a tree, but he hasn’t seen the vehicle since, according to KFOR-TV.
Jones claims he was told it would take about 90 days to fix his damaged truck, but now says “the whole story doesn’t really add up” after numerous texts exchanged between him and shop owner Kirby Gallagher.
Fed up, Jones takes it upon himself to drive to the exact auto shop where he dropped off his car, only to arrive at an abandoned building without seeing a sign, a person — or his car.

A photo of the text message provided to KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4 reveals the cryptic response Gallagher left after being questioned by Jones about when the car would be ready.
“Can I have a car today? Can I have the car today? Car today?” Jones texted the owner on Aug. 31.
“We got a plan for today in the tag office,” Gallagher replied, and Jones replied, “A plan for what?”
“Bring the car and take two more,” the strange text from Gallagher later read.
Jones texted back two more times the next day but didn’t get a single response from the owner.
Jones told a local news station that he felt he had been given the runaround by Gallagher, with excuses followed by more excuses.

Jones said he’s lucky to have friends who let him borrow their cars for occasional drives.
“People are very generous. I think I borrowed seven different cars or something like that. So, I am very grateful to those who have just allowed me to borrow here and there,” said Jones.
Jones has filed a lawsuit and two police reports with the Jones and Oklahoma City police departments.

A local news station contacted Gallagher in hopes of getting a lead on the whereabouts of Jones’ car, not to mention the auto shop he allegedly owned.
“We’re producing more than we can afford, and I’ve hired some employees that I think are better than they are, and they’re not. And, you know, no excuses. It’s a bit annoying… I made some promises. And based on other people’s actions, making me look like a fool… It was just a stupid mistake,” Gallagher reportedly said.
“Sometimes it’s not as bad as it looks when they’re all crushed. And I’ve picked a lot of worse looking cars. I think, the worst thing that can happen is that we can’t fix it…” he explained. “My friends dismantled it. We took it to the frame shop. He tries to pull her and says, I don’t know. And then we pulled the shop back and were going to try to find another donor car, you know, for the inner frame rails and stuff… I couldn’t find anything… And then I got busy with a lot of other jobs and kept going on the back burner. “
