Mandy Moore Cancels Her Tour Due To Health Reasons During Pregnancy
Moore released her new album, “In Real Life,” in May and was scheduled to tour the rest of 2022 before announcing her second pregnancy. He ended up canceling the rest of the tour citing health as the reason for his decision.
In an interview published in July at Parents today, Moore revealed that she couldn’t get an epidural during labor and delivery because of a rare autoimmune disorder called immune thrombocytopenic purpura, or ITP. She was also unable to have an epidural during the August birth.
“My platelets are too low for an epidural. It was horrible. But I can do it again. I can climb the mountain again,” he said. “I wish medicine was an option – just the idea of it being on the table is very good. But we’re just going to carry on like we did last time.” When a woman’s platelets are too low, an epidural can cause injury around the spinal cord. “I’m fine. I just have to keep my blood work going – my platelet levels are checked – throughout the pregnancy,” Moore said. “They’re low, but they’re always low. But I’m all good. Everything is good.”
