Six years is a long time and Ryan doesn’t take it for granted, he thanked the cast and crew. We’ve made memories to last a lifetime, met some of the most incredible people and been welcomed into the homes of countless audiences across America. The show is currently the number one daytime show and shows no signs of slowing down. So while Ryan is leaving real-life husband Kelly, Mark is coming in and we already know their chemistry is off the charts.
Kelly echoed Ryan’s sentiments with a brief statement of her own. “I’m so grateful to have spent the last six years by my best friend’s side for decades to count and will miss starting my day with Ryan,” Ripa said. “Ryan’s energy, passion and love of entertainment is one of a kind.”
The mother-of-two also took to social media to say goodbye to Ryan in a hilarious “empty nester” post. Kelly shared her favorite memories of herself, Ryan and Mark during the Halloween episode.
“OK NOW we are empty nesters. When your friends become work colleagues become family. ♥️ Congrats @ryanseacrest for surviving six winters in NYC! I’m proud of you and forever in your corner. And @instasuelos welcome home, or to the contractual obligation phase of our relationship.”

Ryan also wrote a long message announcing his exit on social media. He shared some photos of his time over the years on the morning show.
“I will miss my working wife and all the laughs we shared. When I signed up to host Live in 2017 it was meant to be for 3 years, but I loved the job and working with Kelly so much that I extended my time, and last year I decided to stay for one more final season.”

He goes on to explain why the exit is important now. “I’ll be transitioning from Live this Spring to filming American Idol season 21 in LA, continuing my radio show on KIIS-FM and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Night, and devoting my summer to opening three more Ryan Seacrest Foundation Studios at the hospital children across the country.”
Ryan warns Mark that he’s not gone forever and will come back here and there. “I can’t wait to return to guest host in the future and Kelly, I promise to share photos of food, eggs and olive oil with you forever. And congratulations to my brother Mark, please makeover my dressing room!”
