On October 28, Matthew Perry was pronounced dead after he was found unresponsive in a hot tub by his assistant at his Pacific Palisades home in Los Angeles, California.
In the week before his death, the “Friends” actor published seven Instagram posts, all referring to the comic book character Batman. In each of those posts, he also calls himself “Mattman,” which is a combination of his first name and Batman. Following his passing, the posts have gained attention, with many believing he may have conveyed a deeper message through them.
Matthew Perry’s Death Has Been Predicted By Some Social Media Users
Fans have started coming up with their conspiracy theories about the passing of Perry, who is said to have died from drowning in her jacuzzi.
With this in mind, attention has grown on one of his latest videos, which has culminated in people linking his death to the video. In the clip, a hand is seen placing what appears to be three cranberries on a table next to it with the caption, “This is what I need to eat today. I’m Mattman.”
Despite the simple and straightforward post, user X quickly pointed out that the berries in the “Serving Sara” cast’s post, which were initially believed to be cranberries, were actually baneberries. Baneberry is a poisonous berry, and if eaten, it can be fatal.

“Bane, the villain, who defeated Batman! ‘BAT>>> signal for death. That’s not a cranberry. It’s a baneberry and it’s deadly toxic, if he ate it then that’s why he had a heart attack, it couldn’t be detected by autopsy’ lifting the veil2,” the words above the two images read.
While one image contains a screenshot of a video from Perry, the other is a screenshot the answer to the question, “Can humans eat baneberries?” It reads, “When ingested, the berries have an almost immediate sedative effect on the human heart and can cause a heart attack if enough is eaten.”
The screenshot resurfaced in a TikTok clip accompanied by the caption, “what are they really?? cranberries, grapes, or BANEBERRIES.” It opens with footage and a caption from Perry before zooming into the “cardiac arrest” section of the Google search page and revealing that consuming the berries results in side effects such as burning mouth and throat, severe stomach cramps, dizziness and hallucinations among others..
The footage also shows snippets of Perry’s other Instagram posts including one that looks like she’s sending a symbolic “bat signal,” a call for help or support. While that sentiment was held by some campy folks in the comments of the original post, others had an eerie feeling about what was in the cards for the “17 Again” performer.
One accurately predicted, “There will be conspiracy theories about this post,” as another directed, “Mattman. you need protein and other nutrients…you need to eat something,” and a third saluted, “A hero the impossible, the one we didn’t know we needed. God willing, Mattman ?.”

A fourth viewer added, “River left us too soon, you don’t have to, people may not be “shocked” but they will be heartbroken.” The comments, made a few days before Perry’s death, really put people in fear.
Fed up with it all, this Instagram user chimed in, “Can everyone stop making conspiracy theories about everything… people are born and die every day… it’s not because people are famous that they’re immortal… Rip Matthew Perry enjoyed seeing you on Friends.”
Concerns About Recovery Champion Award Winners Begin Early
The Blast reported on other controversial updates, including that on October 17, the “Almost Heroes” screen god shared a video on Instagram showing Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman” preview screen. In the caption, she wrote, “No need to worry everyone; I have a walk tonight.”
Two days later, the American-Canadian superstar uploaded an image of a large bat logo displayed in red lights on a ceiling wall. The post’s caption read, “Sleep tight everyone, I got the town tonight -Mattman.”
A third post showcased a photo with the message: “Batman playing Pickleball.” Perry captioned it with “WTF.” Later in the comments section, he stated, “Rest. I’m in a tall building.”
It was around this time that fans began to show concern, with one of them asking, “Does anyone know if there’s a reason why he’s posting so much about Batman?”
