Days after the “17 Again” star passed away on October 28, the model recounted their last moments together and shared the TV personality’s excitement about returning to the film industry. According to Crosby, the older entertainer has several plans for his future, including a biopic.

The model explained that Perry wanted to leave a record of her successful sobriety journey and had chosen the perfect actress to play her younger self. Crosby insisted that “Mr. Sunshine” star has been “really looking forward to life,” adding:
“He said that he wanted to make a film about his life. And he’s worked with Zac Efron in the past in movies, and he said that he wanted Zac Efron to play him as a younger version [of himself] and he will ask him soon to do so.”
“He’s just looking forward to sharing more about his story and his recovery from addiction,” the 25-year-old continued and then added, “And really fighting for that cause to help more people, so he’s very upbeat and happy about everything— everything he wants to do.”
As for Perry’s choice of Efron to star in her biopic, the two previously made waves as co-stars in the 2009 film “17 Again.” In the comedy, the Disney alum portrays the 17-year-old protagonist while the late actor plays a 37-year-old present-day character.
The biopic was among Crosby’s last discussions with the deceased. As noted, the model and actress turned heads after they were photographed having lunch at the Bel-Air Hotel at around 2:30pm on October 27. Sources claim the couple spent over an hour sitting at the same table; however, their conversation was not romantic.
After fans learned of her last date with Perry, the media personality broke her silence about their relationship. The model tells ET that he met the Recovery Champion Award recipient through a mutual friend and maintains a close but platonic bond with the late actor.

The buzz surrounding Crosby’s relationship with Perry forced the Miss Teen USA 2016 winner to address the matter on her Instagram Stories. The 25-year-old confirmed he had gone to lunch with Williamstown residents before his death, saying he never wanted to reveal his personal details.
“Again, I never intended to say anything, but since I was identified, yes, that’s me with him last Friday,” the model wrote. Crosby revealed the 54-year-old was in “very good spirits” as they strolled and spoke to him “passionately about the things he’s come up with in his life.”
The younger entertainer asked the public to refrain from sharing unsolicited opinions on Perry’s death, insisting that the late actress was happy and vibrant in her final days. “That man[Perry] has made a comeback and really deserves more time on this earth,” lamented the beauty pageant contestant.
In another post, Crosby shared a photo of the Golden Globe Award nominee and an emotional caption, writing: “I’m not going to talk about this, but what I will say is that I had the honor of knowing Matthew personally.”
“I am deeply saddened by his death but feel it is in bad taste to talk about it publicly as the focus should not be on me but rather on him and his legacy,” the friend of the deceased concluded the touching tribute.
