The beloved “Friends” star breathed his last on October 28, and Kenny Iwamasa, a 59-year-old Japanese man, is suspected of being the person who found the late entertainer unresponsive in a hot tub.
A few weeks before the heartbreaking incident, the “Three to Tango” actress and Iwamasa lived together in a luxurious Beverly Hills home. The two reportedly lived in the rental property for over a year while the TV personality’s Pacific Palisades home was under renovation.

The “17 Again” star’s death report states that a personal assistant found her body. It is believed the person in question is Iwamasa, who has served as the performer’s assistant and direct caretaker for over 25 years.
It is important to note that Perry’s affairs were handled by Iwamasa and a second assistant named Briana Brancato. However, Brancato left the TV personality side to become a personal trainer a few months before “Mr. Sunshine” actress death.

Given Brancato’s absence, Iwamasa is the likely candidate to have found the TV Guide Award winner’s body in the hot tub. A few weeks before the death of the 54-year-old man, he lived in a Beverly Hills rental house with his Japanese assistant, each The Daily Mail.
The comedian has shelled out $49,000 every month for more than a year for the three-bedroom hillside home. In addition to multiple bedrooms, this 6,305-square-foot rental property features three and a half bathrooms with views overlooking Beverly Hills and the ocean.
The landlord of the Beverly Hills home, John Malakzad, said he had never met Perry in person but labeled the late actress “a good tenant who moved out a few weeks ago.” For Iwamasa, the owner of the rental property described the personal assistant as “an individual who lives with Perry and monitors him.”
The rental listing for the Beverly Hills property has been removed for June 2022, presumably when “The West Wing” actors begin living there with their executive PA. The Williamstown native has been regularly spotted at the home since October 2022.
Additionally, Iwamasa has also been photographed driving his employer around Los Angeles, running errands, and coming out of $49k-a-month. Currently, the three-bedroom pad is being cleared for another tenant, with bins outside the property housing mattresses, cushions and other furniture.

Matthew Perry’s Official Death Certificate Adds to the Mystery of His Cause of Death
Before Iwamasa was revealed as the person who may have found Perry’s lifeless body, the “Serving Sara” star’s official death certificate was revealed. In the document, the 54-year-old’s cause of death was listed as “delayed,” raising more eyebrows about what happened to the actor.
The death certificate cannot address the mystery of the Golden Globe Award nominee’s death due to the pending investigation and toxicology report. Perry’s history with substance abuse is no secret, but the TV personality had achieved sobriety, and close friends confirmed she was sober at the time of her sudden death.

Nevertheless, a toxicology evaluation was necessary because several prescription anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications were found in the Williamstown native’s Pacific Palisades home. Additionally, first responders found prescription COPD medications – medications for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, typically used for people with emphysema or chronic bronchitis.
It remains uncertain if these drugs played a role in Perry’s death, pending the results of toxicology tests. The Satellite Award nominee’s death certificate also revealed the comedian had spent 38 years in the entertainment industry and named the “whistleblower” on his death as his stepfather Keith Morrison.
The document confirms that the “Go On” star was buried at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles, California. Perry’s loved ones expressed their grief over his death in an emotional statement which read:
“We are very saddened by the loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the incredible outpouring of love.”
The entertainer’s “Friends” co-stars echoed similar sentiments of loss in a joint statement, saying they were “absolutely devastated” by the news. In their words: “We are more than just an acting couple. We are a family. There is too much to say, but for now, we will take some time to grieve and process this unexpected loss.”
