Matthew Perry’s Initial Toxicology Report Finds No Evidence Of Fentanyl Or Meth

The cause of Matthew Perry’s unexpected death in his jacuzzi remains unsolved but certain ingredients have now been successfully ruled out.

Days after the “Friends” star died on Oct. 28, preliminary toxicology tests conducted on the entertainer’s body revealed his death was unrelated to substances for at least two major drugs. Many suspected the beloved TV personality might be taking illegal drugs given her history of addiction; however, the results are still uncertain with more tests conducted.

Matthew Perry’s First Toxicology Test Shows No Evidence of Fentanyl & Meth

“Mr. Sunshine” actress breathed her last in the hot tub of her Pacific Palisades home after playing pickleball earlier that day at the Riviera Country Club. He was found unresponsive by first responders, who also found multiple prescription pills in the Hollywood veteran’s home.

At first glance, it appears that the Golden Globe Award nominee has died of drowning; however, the cause of the entertainer’s death was postponed pending further investigation. While investigating the Williamstown native’s death, law enforcement conducted less thorough toxicology tests on Perry to rule out the influence of drugs such as fentanyl and meth.

The results of a partial view of what was in the 54-year-old man’s system at the time of his death proved that he had not taken the aforementioned substances. However, this finding does not rule out the presence of other illegal drugs in Perry’s blood.

A source from the police said TMZ that more in-depth tests are being conducted on the TV personality’s body. The investigation is part of a toxicology exam to determine if the “Go On” star has used other illegal substances or if she took a fatal dose of any prescription drugs.

The absence of fentanyl and meth in Perry’s initial test results matched the story shared by close friends of the late actor. According to this source, the 54-year-old man is awake and happier than before his death. This claim will take approximately 4-6 months to be confirmed, which is the time required to conduct the remaining toxicology tests.

Once the final analysis is complete, the coroner will be able to reveal the Williamstown native’s cause of death. However, if illegal drugs are found in the deceased’s body, the investigation will be forwarded to the LAPD’s Homicide Robbery Division.

Many may find the department’s role strange in Perry’s case because there is currently no evidence of third-party involvement in the entertainer’s death. However, RHD detectives are no stranger to leading A-list cases, given their knowledge and large manpower.

Conspiracy Theorists Flood Social Media With Tips About Matthew Perry’s Cause Of Death

Before the Champion of Recovery Award recipient’s preliminary toxicology test results were released, fans weighed in on the TV personality’s death with the “Baneberries” theory. One of Perry’s videos dropped before his death captured the 54-year-old playfully comparing himself to the fictional DC hero Batman.

In the clip, what appears to be three cranberries are placed on a table next to each other with the caption, “This is what I need to eat today. I’m Mattman.” The amalgamation of the entertainer with his first name and Batman seemed innocent until a conspiracy theorist claimed otherwise in a shocking X post.

According to the individual, the berry in the video of the star “The Kennedys: After Camelot” is not a cranberry but a baneberry. Baneberry is a poisonous berry that can be fatal if eaten. The fan hinted that Perry had been crying out for help with her DC-related post, writing:

“Bane, the villain, who defeated Batman! ‘BAT>>> signal for death. That’s not a cranberry. It is a baneberry and deadly toxic. If he ate that, then that’s why he had a heart attack; they cannot be detected by post-mortem.”

Conspiracy theorists defend their analogy with a screenshot of a video Perry shared along with a screenshot of an answer to the question, “Can humans eat baneberries?” It reads:

“When ingested, the berries have an almost immediate sedative effect on the human heart and can cause a heart attack if enough is eaten.”

User X’s theory went viral, with another re-sharing a screenshot in a TikTok clip with the caption, “What are they?? cranberries, grapes, or BANEBERRIES.” Additionally, the video shows that consuming baneberries can cause symptoms such as burning mouth and throat, severe stomach cramps, dizziness and hallucinations, among others.

The post also captures several of Perry’s other social media posts where the “17 Again” actress appears to ask for help with Batman’s symbolic bat gesture. Coincidentally, someone else horribly predicted the Williamstown native’s death with a comment under her berry post that read, “The river left us too soon, you don’t have to, people may not be ‘shocked,’ but they will be heartbroken.”
