The ballroom didn’t stop Mauricio Umansky from winning back his estranged wife, Kyle Richards.
The entrepreneur is determined to save her marriage to the reality television star and balances that effort with her commitment to compete on this season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Umansky claims that although they are “officially separated,” they still maintain their relationship.

During Tuesday’s episode of “DWTS,” Umansky gave it her all on the dance floor with fellow pro Emma Slater. Although a mistake in their performance resulted in them receiving the lowest score of the night, the pair narrowly missed out on elimination.
Speaking about the incident after actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears and her pro partner Alan Bersten were fired, The Agency founder stated, “It feels amazing to be safe. I feel blessed, I feel lucky. I thank my fans.”
Since this year’s season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” will highlight the relationship drama between her and Richards, according to a recently released trailer, Umansky also touched on it. As he told ET:
“You’re going to see our relationship lead to difficult parts of the relationship, there’s no question about that. But it’s going to be a really fun and entertaining season for people who like to watch drama — there’s going to be a lot of drama, that’s for sure.”

Following the confusing state of their romance, the “Buying Beverly Hills” star explained, “The reality is… we’re officially broken up, but we’re not fighting.” He noted that they were “fighting for this,” adding:
“We have been married for 27 years, 26 amazing years. Kyle is my best friend, he’s an amazing human being, I love him… And marriages go through hard times, sometimes, and that’s what we’re dealing with right now.”
In addition, Umansky has something to say to “RHOBH” fans and others who are emotionally invested in her and Richards’ relationship. To them, he said, “We will tell our fans when we know how our lives are, but in the meantime, we are fighting [for our marriage].”
The 53-year-old also shared that despite the challenges of the split, there are some positives to the situation. He has explained:
“There are many parts of this that have actually brought this family closer together… There is one silver lining. My daughters are actually very happy that we have more real and open conversations with the family. They appreciate that.”
Umansky and Richards share three daughters — Alexia, Sophia, and Portia — as well as Richards’ 34-year-old daughter Farrah Brittany, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.

Just before the “DWTS” star spoke about her hopes for her union, The Blast reported that her estranged wife had called for votes on behalf of her and her dance partner. For the confession, Richards uploaded a picture of Umansky posing next to Slater, with the former wearing a black and gray sports coat, black shirt and matching trousers.
The post quickly garnered thousands of likes and several comments, including expressions of confusion from fans. While one pointed out that Umansky did not have a ring on his wedding finger, another bluntly commented:
“So confused by this. Why do they state that they are separated if they are not divorced. Giving too much information to strangers about personal matters?.”
“Y’all are so confusing ?,” tweeted a third cybernaut, the fourth of whom praised Richards writing, “So glad you’re up for it … I hope you all sort it out.” A fifth person wondered aloud whether the show of public support was for “damage control.”
Richards and Umansky released a joint statement about their decision to separate in July following rumors of strain in their marriage. In a note shared via Instagram, the former lovers denied that any “wrongdoing” led to the collapse of their marriage. The statement states:
“Regarding the news that came out about us today…any allegations of divorce are untrue. However, yes, we have had a difficult year. The most challenging of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other very much. There is no fault on anyone’s part. Even though we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to resolve our issues in private. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please don’t make up fake stories to fit a more raunchy narrative.”
