The rapper is claiming his ex-bff is in contempt after it was revealed he had ignored subpoenas demanding he sit down for a deposition and hand over his private texts with Tory Lanez.

Meg plans to deal with a lot of things in court with her former label. One of those things is their lack of accounting documents. He states that all his tourism income is contracted to be covered by the title, but the title will not provide the paperwork to prove that they have paid and the AMOUNT they paid.
He sued for over $1 million, claiming he was owed royalties. Additionally, he asked to be released from his “unfair” contract. They countersued, claiming that Meg owed them the album, and since she was talking about money, they also wanted to see her account records.
1501 believe they are owed a cut of the rapper’s sponsorship and endorsements as part of his contract with them.

Harris plays a role in this lawsuit because she married Darien Smith, an executive in 1501. In court documents, Megan claims Darien was an executive at the label and knew of the label’s alleged attempts to sabotage her project. Court documents say:
“For example, 1501 has maliciously partnered with people like Tory Lanez—the man convicted of shooting [Megan]—and others to be despised [Megan]. Smith, an executive for 1501, is married to Kelsey Harris, a female rapper who released a song on or about November 25, 2022, titled “Bussin Back,” in which he raps, “Way [Pete] did 1501, should have known I couldn’t trust him” and “if I was the one holding the gun, you’d be hearing about the murders.”
Meg claims that 1501 approved Harris’ diss track knowing it was harmful to her. “As a senior executive of 1501 and the husband of Kelsey Harris, Smith undoubtedly has information related to the 1501 crusade to minimize [Megan] openly.”

In court documents, Meg explained that she wanted Harris to be exonerated of her relationship with 1501, Carl and Tory. He wanted Harris to produce all of his communications with the parties who referred him.
He also wanted the hopeful rapper to give a simple yes or no to whether 1501 supported his diss track. Meg also claims Kelsey received the subpoena in May but did not attend the June 21 deposition. So now, he’s asking the judge to compel Kelsey to appear.
They believe that “Harris played an important role in their campaign.” They have specifically called the time “after [Megan] appeared against Tory Lanez for shooting and seriously wounding him.”
Court documents explain in detail. “Defendant cooperated with Lanez to harass, intimidate, and disparage Pete—including making threatening posts on social media.” Meg’s lawyer continued. “The defendants also appear to have cooperated with Harris as part of their scheme.”
For this reason, Meg and her attorney wanted Harris to be held in contempt which could carry a heavy fine.
