It was a “new nose, who’s that” moment for reality star Meghan King when the bandages came off after her recent rhinoplasty surgery. King debuted her decision while telling the story of her recovery journey on Instagram. In a set of Story slides, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum, 38, explains what it’s like to have a blocked nose and the changes that have taken place.

King Explains The Recovery Process In An Instagram Story Slide
In the first slide, he shows a clip seven days after surgery with the bandage still on his nose. “I cut the tape that was on my nose this morning. And I can see my nose, so I’m very excited, like the tip, so I’m very excited. I’m going to CosmetiCare now to get it,” she said. “We can see the big reveal that. I’m really excited.”
Dr Michael Niccole explains what has been done in the next slide. “One week after rhinoplasty surgery. So we did the breasts and we didn’t do anything to her toes but we did her nose,” he joked before removing the bandages. In the next slide, he discusses removing the stitches and explains what he does during surgery. King added this caption to his video, “This is one of the many reasons why I choose Cosmeticare and Dr. Nicole. He always explains things well. It was very helpful and amazing to understand the surgery and the results!” King also had her breasts done and they briefly discussed how the surgery went as well.

King “Stunned” With Swelling
The reality star later explained how “shocked” she was about the post-surgery swelling. “My reaction was surprised. I was not prepared for how much swelling there would be. Dr. “Niccole did a little bit to correct, I think, my nose, and literally when she took the bandage off my nose was wider than it was,” she explained. “And guys, I had a vasovagal reaction. If you don’t know what that is, look it up. I threw up.” He then showed a photo of what he looked like.

It Doesn’t Take Long For Some Of The Swelling To Go Down
Just a few hours later, the swelling had reduced significantly. King said, “just a few hours later, the same day, I’ll show you what I looked like going out that night.” He also explained that it can take up to a year to fully swell. She later showed off her photo hours after her big reveal.

King then posted side-by-side makeup-free photos – one taken the day the bandages were removed and one taken less than a month later.

King then threw some humor into the mix with his final Story slide saying his original nose looked similar to Squidward’s from “Spongebob Squarepants.”

“Gorge just like you, I had breast implants, was in so much pain and had them removed! Breast implant disease research is wonderful – if you value your health and it looks like you do, I would encourage you to avoid implants ❤️”
“Gurl you look 🔥…but most people are their own worst critics. I heard you on the podcast saying you got new breasts. I just did it too. Love them. Do whatever makes you feel great!”
“Whatever you want.. looks great either way but so you boo!”
“Please don’t! Get a fat lift and transfer, you’ll end up with a lifetime of surgeries and more scars! I know you’re petite, but they can find fat and harvest it. Save yourself, every 10 years until you live, can you imagine do this every ten years.
