It’s been three years and counting since the TV personality and retired baseball player decided to end their marriage. However, moving on from the union was not easy for King. In a recent update, she talked about her healing from the marriage that ended.

The 38-year-old has been on the mend since the breakup and occasionally details her journey on her “Intimate Knowledge” podcast. Although it’s a work in progress, the “Say Yes to the Dress” star shared part of the process in a recent video on her Instagram story. The footage shows the mother of three in a casual look at home, with her hair down.
As he spoke, he held up his hand, showing a gold Cartier bracelet the retired athlete had given him. “RHOC” wrote in the caption of the video, “Jim gave me this @cartier love bracelet and I haven’t worn it in three years because of the symbolism… but I’m wearing it again before the @gaiahaven experience kicks back and reclaims my power with self love.”
Also, in the video, the reality star talks about having Tina Switten on her “Intimate Knowledge” podcast. Switten’s advocate for those going through “Narcissistic abuse and coercive control.”
Speaking further about the guest, King emphasized that Switten has been “a great source of comfort and knowledge for him as he navigates his healing journey.
Before the revelation of her healing process, King had an emotional breakdown where she broke down in tears after a divorce. The Blast detailed that she shared a video that showed her in a make-up-free state while crying her eyes out.
“No one really talks about coercive control and the aftermath of divorce,” King said, wiping away tears. “People say, ‘It will get better in time. It will get better with time.’ It’s been three years.” She continued, “When? What time do I have to wait? The lawyer told me that. My parents’ coordinator, everybody told me. It’s not better. It’s worse.”

After this emotional outburst, the former reality star tried to vent her emotions, so she emptied her closet. Detailing the process, King said, “So if I’m down, which I am, I’m having a hard day, I tell myself, ‘Meg, you’ve got to pull it together. So what are you going to do?’ So I did something symbolic, which was cleaning.”

The advocate has always been open about her feelings, and last month, she reminisced about the nuclear family she once had before the divorce. Per The Blast, King posted a throwback photo of himself beaming with joy as he carried his infant daughter Aspen, in the picture.
The blonde mother was dressed in a black and white checkered shirt and accessorized with a pair of sunglasses. The happy moment was captured as King lifted Aspen into the air and gazed at her with overwhelming admiration and affection.
Accompanying the photo was a long caption, in which he poured out his feelings. He wrote, “Sometimes looking back at photos like this, I think about the ignorant happiness I felt. In this moment, I had no idea things would turn out the way they do today.”
She continued, “I envy other people with nuclear families, and I mourn the ones I’ve lost. I’m the happiest and smartest and most powerful I’ve ever been, but at a very high price.”

Although she longs for those happier days, the 38-year-old stated that she is grateful to have experienced a nuclear family and advised her fans, adding, “What you define as happiness does not determine someone else’s happiness. Grace, my friends. Grace is the greatest gift you can give yourself and each other. I love you.”
After King dropped this post, fans offered support to the TV personality in the comments section. One follower wrote, “I feel you. I always felt that. You don’t miss it, you miss the simplicity of believing in it forever and not having to battle with their souls. ❤” The king replied, “Bingo. And the peace that comes with peace.”
