Meghan McCain Slams Sherri Shepherd For ‘Nasty’ Talk

Meghan McCain is clapping back at Sherri Shepherd following an online incident that involved the movie star shadowing the former “The View” co-host live.

In a recent interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” McCain spoke about the incident, suggesting that he may have been targeted for publicity for Shepherd’s new show.

Cohen recalled his chat with Shepherd in which he asked who on “The View” he stayed in touch with, and he responded by saying all the co-hosts except McCain. He wondered if the two had beefed in the past, which apparently wasn’t the case as the 37-year-old author told him he didn’t know Shepherd as well as people thought. He said:

“I mean, look, I don’t know Sherri Shepherd; she was on the show, like, 15 years before me, when I was in high school. So, I don’t know why people are under the impression that we’re close friends.”

The TV star went on to share her thoughts on the “Sherri” star’s shadow: “I think she has a new show coming out. She’s looking for publicity. A very easy way to get publicity is to try and fight me.” McCain was in no mood to fight Shepherd, and he voiced it, adding that he just tends to “fight more with people like Kari Lake,” an Arizona politician and those running for Arizona governor. He went on to share:

The television personality later pointed to the “toxic bad girl reputation” that all daytime talk shows, including “The View,” have embraced. He believes it’s unnecessary because “there’s no need to be evil,” also hopes it “will all stop.” McCain referred back to Shepherd’s insult and revealed that it was not the first time it had happened. He has been targeted several times during his time on “The View” and even after.

The savvy columnist didn’t understand why he was being targeted and why anyone would have the impression that he and Shepherd were close friends. Even so, he wasn’t too worried because he never thought about the joker. However, he believed it was “evil” and a “very strange way” for Shepherd to start his new talk show by trashing someone.

McCain sees the upcoming program as “light and positive for women,” but given the actress’ disdain, he may not have the same impression. She also noted that she was targeted primarily as a “bad girl, bad girl” from other “The View” alumni that Shepherd said she was hanging out with.

As for Shepherd throwing shade at McCain, an Instagram update on the “Watch What Happens Live” feed showed details of the incident, tagging McCain, Shepherd and Elizabeth Hasselbeck. The “Less than Perfect” star was asked who she was closest to from “The View,” and she said everyone was family, quickly adding, “not Meghan.”

His answer clearly implies that he and the writer of The Daily Beast do not have a good relationship. The post’s caption also hints at that as it reads, “#TheView alum Sherri Shepherd shares she’s still in touch with every former co-host except Meghan McCain.”

Blogger Blogette McCain Has No Beef With ‘The View’ Sunny Hostin

While McCain may be labeled a bad girl, she still connects with just one of “The View’s” co-hosts, Sunny Hostin, whom she considers “one of the greatest TV presences in all of television.” As The Blast reported, he opened up on the “Reality with The King” podcast about why he looks up to Hostin, revealing he has no relationship with any of the other co-hosts.

The Daily Mail columnist mentioned that the ABC pundit had a level of curiosity not found in other stars of the programme. He expressed his love and respect for Hostin and said his former colleague was a “genuinely good person” who didn’t “take it out on him” like others did.

Fans may remember that McCain’s time on “The View” was not so bright as he clashed with several co-hosts. However, he claims to have moved on from that and doesn’t watch the show anymore.
