Megyn Kelly Believes Russell Brand Should Not Be ‘Cut Off’ From YouTube Monetization

Megyn Kelly believes that controversial comedian Russell Brand can still make money on YouTube.

The platform stripped Hollywood actors of their ability to make money from ads for violating their “responsibility policy.” While he regularly posts videos questioning climate change, the Ukraine War and the COVID-19 vaccine, others believe the decision is based on the recent sexual assault allegations the actor is facing.

Despite the allegations against her, Megyn Kelly believes that she is innocent until proven guilty and that her YouTube volume should not be stripped of her ability to make money until she is convicted of a crime.

Although he acknowledged that there was “a lot of evidence” against Brand, none of it had yet been proven.

So far, the 48-year-old actor has been accused of raping and sexually assaulting four women. He vehemently denied the allegations and claimed that they were part of a larger narrative to silence him.

On Tuesday, YouTube removed his ability to earn revenue from his videos after claiming that he violated their “creator responsibility policy.”

Kelly said, “I actually have a problem with” YouTube’s decision and felt they were too quick to ban ad revenue on her account.

“I’m inclined to believe there’s a lot of evidence against Russell Brand, unlike some of these #MeToo situations,” Kelly said, according to the Daily Mail.

“But I don’t think his relationship with his audience and his ability to make money should be cut off in cases that are 10 years old, which he still hasn’t had a chance to digest or react to,” he continued.

“I know they gave him eight days to look at the story but that’s not enough. These are huge and they could land him in trouble both criminally and civilly, and he should be given a realistic chance to deal with these charges, one by one,” he added.

Megyn Kelly isn’t the only one to publicly voice their support for Russell Brand. Candace Owens, Piers Morgan, and founder of the pro-Trump youth group Turning Points USA, Charlie Kirk, have all voiced their support for the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star.

“Not only has Russell Brand been convicted of no crime, he has never been charged with a crime. “Yet YouTube just unilaterally destroyed his channel with more than 6 million subscribers, and several press outlets colluded in the takedown operation,” Kirk said.

Morgan says, “There’s something a little Orwellian about a business that says it’s going to keep hosting its videos — keeping millions of eyeballs on their platform — but won’t share the spoils.”

While Kelly agreed, she noted that it would be wrong to completely ignore the women’s allegations against the actor.

“A lot of my friends, people I love and really respect and admire, have gone to the ‘we’re defending the Russell Brand’ place. ‘We are fed up with #MeToo. We are fed up with this bull—. We are sick and tired of seeing men’s careers completely demolished based on anonymous allegations,” he said.

“And this is anonymous at least to us, although I’m sure Russell Brand knows whether or not he slept with a 16-year-old for three months,” she said.

“And I’ve said, keep an open mind,” he continued. “I think there’s a lot of evidence in this case, unlike most others, and we shouldn’t turn ‘believe all women,’ which is absurd, into ‘don’t believe women,’ which is equally absurd.”

“Women who tend to be more conservative, or at least moderately liberal, who feel a new alignment with many of these men on the right who are commenting on this especially in the digital aisle, and feel very frustrated and angry that there are so few voices at least say’ ‘Let’s keep an open mind.’ They didn’t even say that. Their reaction was ‘It’s bull—,” Kelly revealed.

Megyn Kelly Asks Why So Many Are Defending Russell’s Brand

In light of the accusations against her, Megyn Kelly admits that she cannot understand why so many are trying to defend Russell Brand. “Why would anyone spend capital to defend this man?” he asked.

“We have truly beautiful, brilliant, honorable, thoughtful, polite, respectful men everywhere on this side of the aisle. And frankly, there are plenty across the aisle as well,” he continued.

“But I’m just saying there’s no need to have Russell Brand or make sure he doesn’t diminish in the face of this very heavy charge,” he added.
