Michael Bolton opens up about the health problems he faced in the run-up to the new year.
The legendary singer shared that he underwent surgery for a brain tumor shortly before the holidays in a statement explaining his decision to take a break from performing.

“I want to start by wishing everyone a happy new year! I also want to share that 2023 has finally presented me with some very unexpected challenges,” Bolton began his statement on Facebook addressed to his loyal fans.

He continued, “Just before the holidays, I found out that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my amazing medical team, the surgery was a success.” The “When A Man Loves A Woman” singer assured fans that she is in good spirits and is currently recovering at home, “surrounded by incredible love.”
The two-time Grammy Award winner told fans that her health has mandated her to temporarily stop touring. “For the next few months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I will have to take a temporary break from touring,” he wrote. “It’s always the hardest thing for me to disappoint my fans or delay a show.”
However, the 70-year-old singer promised that he is working hard to “accelerate” his progress and will be back performing in no time. Bolton ended his post by thanking his fans for their loyalty, writing:
“I am very grateful for all the love and support you have shown me over the years. Know that I keep your positive messages in my heart and I will give you more updates as soon as possible. Lots of love always, MB.”
