Lisa Marie Presley Was Married To Michael Jackson For Two Years

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times throughout her life. The New York Times reports that she and the “Thriller” singer tied the knot during a secret ceremony in the Dominican Republic and began their honeymoon in Trump Tower.
Their marriage only lasted two years but was the subject of speculation at the time. During their marriage, Presley denied rumors that their relationship was a publicity stunt in an interview with Diane Sawyer.
“How can you fake this 24 hours a day, sleep with someone, wake up with someone?” he said at the time. “I would never marry someone for any reason other than the fact that I fell in love with them.”
The couple split in 1996. At the time, she told The Times that she was “pretty young” when they started their relationship. “I’m still quite young, and trying to decide what’s better for me: to be with someone who has nothing, and then they get trampled and have no ego because they just become ‘Mr. Presley,’ or with someone in my situation,” he said.

In a brief statement to The Blast, John Branca and John McClain of Michael Jackson’s estate wrote, “We are saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Michael’s ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley. Michael appreciates the special bond they share as evident in the official video for ‘You Are Not Alone’, and is comforted by Lisa Marie’s generous love, concern and care during their time together.
“Bringing these two special people together was an unforgettable moment resulting in a union full of genuine love and caring for each other. My deepest sympathies remain with Lisa’s family,” the statement continued. “Our hearts go out to Lisa Marie’s children, Riley, Harper and Finley, and her mother, Priscilla, at this difficult time.”
They are far from the only ones using social media to pay their respects. Famous fans and friends were shocked to hear that Presley had died suddenly after he had just appeared at the 2023 Golden Globes on Tuesday night.

Singer Taryll Jackson, who is part of the Jackson family, also took to Twitter to express her condolences to Presley. “I am saddened to hear the news of Lisa Marie’s passing. My uncle would always tell me and my brothers that he often asked about us and said hello for him,” Taryll tweeted. “He was always good to the three of us. Sending love to his family. RIP.”
“Rebel Yell” singer Billy Idol tweeted, “Sad news 2 hear #LisaMariePresley passed away .. she loved me so much, in Memphis in the 90’s she gave me a very special private viewing of Graceland. She is so beautiful & we did a show together at NYFW in the early 2000’s. RIP.”
