Michigan authorities are investigating a fatal house explosion that occurred in Lake Whitmore on Saturday.

FOX 2 Detroit reports that the explosion happened on Winters Lane. Police have not released the death toll, but Huron Valley Ambulance spokesman Marc Breckenridge told MLive Media Group that four people were found dead.

Two others were seriously injured and taken to hospital in critical condition, the official said.

“(Firefighters) are being very careful to make sure there are no additional people to save inside the residence,” Breckenridge explained.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or how the explosion happened, which is under investigation.
