Shaun Weiss, best known for his role in the sports film franchise “Mighty Ducks” marked a remarkable milestone in his sobriety journey.

Over the weekend, the actor marked four years of sobriety with a celebratory post on social media and nostalgic nostalgia with some ’90s stars.

Shaun Weiss Marks 4 Year Anniversary of Sobriety

Weiss took to Instagram to share the good news with her more than 31,000 followers. He uploaded a photo of himself looking healthy and thriving while wearing a baseball jacket over a white shirt with the words sober emblazoned on it.

The actor was clean shaven and spread his arms in joy before simply declaring “4 years clean!” The post was met with a standing ovation from his fans, who praised him for working so hard to turn his life around.

“I’m glad you found your way back my friend,” wrote one follower while another wrote, “Way to go GOLDBURG THE GOALIE!!!!” Another comment read, “You have SO much to be proud of Shawn!! So happy for you! Much love and respect! ??????.”

Following that impressive success, Weiss hosted a celebratory standup comedy event attended by some of the biggest legends of the 90s. People like Natanya Ross from “The Secret World of Alex Mack,” Nate Richert from “Sabrina The Teenage Witch,” Michael Ray Bower, who starred in Nickelodeon’s “Salute Your Shorts” and comic Ryan Talmo.

Shaun Weiss Turns His Addiction Battle Into Comedy Fodder

Weiss’ four-year anniversary of sobriety comes nearly a year after he addressed his past addiction and arrest during a stand-up session at San Diego’s Mic Drop Comedy Club in April. He mainly poked fun at his arrest in 2020, mocking his mugshot.

“I don’t know if you saw the child actor arrested for burglary,” he told the audience. “I was so disappointed in myself… I wasn’t even wearing a disguise. What the hell? Come on, Goldberg, you can do better than that.”

He continued to address his mug shot, “I’ll tell you, they don’t use any Instagram filters at that station. This photo is rough. You know you look bad when your drug dealer doesn’t want to be seen in public with you. That’s when you have to reevaluate things.”

Weiss has been sober since 2020 and has not shied away from talking about how he turned to stealing and petty theft to support his drug addiction. In an interview with “Addiction Talk,” the actor admitted that he steals $1,000 worth of electronics every day to feed his addiction.

He credits his life as a child actor for driving him to drugs, saying, “It made me an adrenaline junkie. Things that were much more interesting to me than the average 13-year-old — taking trips and flying places and being in movies. So I’m very addicted to the thrill of things. And when that’s gone, I don’t know how to get that feeling back. And I found that in drugs.”
