Screenwriter and TV producer Mindy Kaling is increasingly being judged by fans after revealing her new figure on social media.
Kaling, who hit it big after being recognized at the Producers Guild Awards, was excited to share her success with the crowd on Instagram. However, overzealous fans were quick to point out that her impressive weight loss was too good to be true.

Taking to her Instagram account to share with her 6.4 million followers a glimpse of her proud success, Kaling posted a carousel of two pictures of herself looking stunning as she graced the Producers Guild Awards.
“The Office” actress looked stunning in a figure-hugging black mermaid cut gown complete with a plunging sweetheart neckline. Kaling looks slimmer than ever, showing off her slim midriff, slimmer arms and more defined collarbones.
She complimented her eye-catching outfit with a sparkling diamond necklace and earrings. The six-time Emmy winner wore her long hair in a bun over one shoulder and went for a standard makeup look.
Opening up about her big win in the caption, she wrote, “I was so nervous about accepting the Norman Lear Award for Achievement in Television at the Producers Guild Awards last night that I didn’t take a picture, so here’s what I found online.”
She went on to reveal that she had an “unforgettable” night and praised her best friend, writing, “My best friend @bjnovak gave the most amazing tribute and I was surrounded by everyone I love.”
Speaking about his profession as a comedian and producer, he added, “This job is great but also hard, and it means the world to me to be able to reflect on my career, the people who took a chance on me, and why I love doing TV.”
“To also be associated with Norman Lear as a working comedy writer is untrue, the man created Maude for God’s sake. Will definitely post more as I find pictures-going to get real PGA-y here! ❤️,” the actor gushed.
Although her post got over 190,000 likes and received heartfelt comments from her supporters, some online trolls made unfounded rumors about Kaling’s appearance. One wrote, “Now, please stop hiding diabetes medication from those who need it.” Another observed, “So sad we’re entering a new pro-ana era and you’re a part of it Mindy. My goodness…”
A third hinted that the actress was monitoring her comment section, they wrote, “Filtering comments O zem*** ?? we know Mindy.”
A rather disgruntled fan also wrote, “Another celebrity on O zempic ??? and censored the comments too! ???.”
Not content to call out the “Late Night” star on Instagram, others took to Twitter to keep up with the actor. One individual wrote, “Mindy Kaling put the particular, O to ozempic.” While another quipped, “I want what Mindy Kaling (Ozempic) has.”
Kaling Is Always Open About Her Weight Loss Journey
Despite the backlash over Kaling’s slimmer new look, the talented screenwriter, who has often spoken about being bullied in her youth because of her weight, is open about her weight loss journey.
According to reports, the weight loss began for the Massachusetts native in high school. In his first memoir titled “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” she wrote about creating a “temporary diet formula” in high school after a classmate told her she’d be “really beautiful if you lost weight.”

As a result, he only ate half of the meal he was given and skipped dessert. The book excerpt reads, “Without exercise, I lost thirty pounds in about two months. I remember waking up in the morning and looking down at my fingers and seeing that they had shrunk overnight.”
The “Never Have I Ever” creator continued, “Suddenly I’m freezing all the time, like those skinny girls in the movies who always complain and have to sleep with an extra fleece blanket. My face is thin, and my stomach is gone. … I thought [my bully] Duante would eventually leave me alone, but he didn’t.”
However, the Dartmouth College alum changed her perspective on weight loss and dieting when she welcomed her children, Katherine and Spencer. She noted that in the past before award shows, she would do juice fasts or stop eating certain types of food.
However, he now chooses to keep it simple, “I will never stop being a foodie. I’m not going to be someone who can only eat spinach and salmon every day. I really, for the first time in my life, tried moderation, and I loved it.
As for exercise, Kaling prefers to be more fit throughout the day rather than doing a little exercise at the beginning of the day or none at all.
