TMZ reported at the time that the former couple had tried to make things work but couldn’t and needed to take a break from each other. Sources for the news channel also claimed that there was no cheating involved.
Despite claims that the two parties weren’t cheating on each other, Lavigne was seen hanging out with rapper Tyga at the popular NOBU restaurant before she called off her engagement to Mod Sun. The couple seemed comfortable with each other and even shared a warm hug before parting ways.

Just before Lavigne called off their engagement, Mod Sun, in an interview with E! News, tells the story of her now ex-fiancé and how he changed her life and saved her. The singer credits Lavigne for making her stop feeling like a “child” and also helping her mature.
