“Obviously, yesterday was a hot day … there (is) an increased risk there because of the heat,” Acting Inspector Lisa McDougall said.
“It increases our search requirements and obviously we take into account the fact that it will affect someone’s health.”
Police and SES searched the state forest area behind Buninyong Golf Club on Monday.

He said Murphy usually goes for a run every day and is very familiar with the Canadian National Forest and the surrounding area.
“The search area is not completely isolated, we’re on the outskirts of Ballarat, and it’s not too far from the urban area either,” MacDougall said.
Acting Inspector MacDougall said data received from Murphy’s phone, which he was carrying at the time, was pinged near the golf course.
Murphy is described as caucasian, approximately 5’8″ tall with a slim build and shoulder length blonde hair. She was last seen wearing half-length black leggings and a maroon/brown singlet.
Anyone who sees Murphy is urged to contact Ballarat East police station on (03) 5336 6000.
