They say music heals the soul and Morgan Evans knows a lot about that feeling!
The Australian country singer has always been known for his sincere and honest music. After divorcing his ex-wife, Kelsea Ballerini, the songwriter spoke candidly about how he has poured his thoughts through his music to help him heal.
Morgan Evans Uses Music To Share Honesty
The star opened up about how she channeled her feelings into her music and turned her struggles into heartfelt lyrics. He shared that his new docuseries titled “Morgan Evans – Over for You,” which has just been released, is a five-part exploration of his creative process.
The Australian artist took fans behind the scenes of her CMC Rocks performance, where she debuted her song “Over for You” about her divorce from Ballerini. The first episode, titled “The Return,” saw him say how he connected with so many people who could relate to what he went through after he performed the emotional song.
Offstage, he stated, “I didn’t know I would feel this I was playing at CMC Rocks, but I felt a weight in my chest.” He later added, “I feel like I told it in the most honest, real and most positive way possible. It’s the only song I’ve written since going through all this shit. It felt like channeling all that awfulness into something positive.”
The series captures highlights from his Australian tour, including his emotional performances, interactions with fans and trips back home to spend time with family. The 37-year-old described love as a “strange thing” as he reflected on the good times in his relationship. He stated:
“You never want to go back to the past… but there are different stages of life where you can take the positives or at least acknowledge the positives in different parts of the present. Maybe I’m trying to do it right now. Yes, coming here helps.”
Footage of him returning home with his family shows him rejoicing with his loved ones, especially his niece. Ahead of the final episode, the “Things That We Drink To” singer sits on the beach and tries to detail her progress so far.
He explained why they played “Young Again” every night of the tour, saying, “I always try to look at everything in a very positive way. I don’t see any point in looking at it any other way. I’ve learned more recently it’s that you have to feel something, and you have to take some time to sit in something and experience it and not to dwell on it.”

Finally, he concluded, “Considering everything, I have a long way to go, but I am far from where I was three weeks ago. One day at a time, that’s all you can hope for. Very grateful to be at this moment.”
‘Kiss Somebody’ Singer Speaks Out Against Ex-Wife’s Comments About Their Divorce
The star expressed her dismay at what she heard her ex-partner say in the trailer released for her new podcast episode and emotional EP titled “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.” According to The Blast, the 29-year-old woman spoke about their divorce and their marriage.
In a statement, Evans called out the “Miss Me More” singer for allegedly not telling the truth and asked fans not to be mean to her. The former couple filed for divorce in August 2022 and settled two months later, and while the older singer has remained tight-lipped about the split, she has been linked to actor Chase Stokes.
The short message read, “It saddens me to see this person, who I have spent my whole life with, and love with all my heart, saying things that are not reality and leaving out what actually happened. He knows I’m not the type of guy to talk about it openly.”
She wrote, “If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps. All I ask is if you’re on my page, please don’t be mean. Don’t be mean to Kelsea, don’t be mean to each other. Life is too short. “
