When we return from any destination, we have a pile of beautiful moments that we collected along the way. Nothing can match this feeling.
Today, I will talk about my dream destination, which is Dharamshala. Millions of people have dreams of visiting Dharamshala at some point in their lives. India is rich in diversity with many states, having different cultures, traditions, and heritage.
Talking about Dharamshala, it is my dream destination. I have visited this place many times, but I definitely want to go there again.

I am a nature lover. When it comes to planning for a trip, I always choose a destination, which is closer to nature and Dharamshala is no exception. Dharamshala is located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, a state in India. It is the winter capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is just 18 km from Kangra, a town in Himachal Pradesh.
It has served as the place where many administrative headquarters of Kangra District are located. Recently, the city was selected as one of the hundred in the country to be developed as a smart city under the ‘Smart City Mission’ inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. I love this place because of the beauty of the scenery.
What many people don’t know about Dharamshala is that there are 2 parts of the city. One part is called Lower Dharamshala, which is the commercial hub and is full of courts, markets and the famous Kotwali Bazaar. The second part is known as Upper Dharamshala, which is home to Mcleodganj and other structural buildings that give us a glimpse of its colonial past.
When we visit any part of Dharamshala, both have something different to offer. While visiting this destination in India, it allows travelers to relax and enjoy the beauty of its surroundings. I would definitely like to visit this place again with my family or friends.

It is an ideal dream destination for all those who want to redefine their adventure experience from valleys, hills, rivers and forests to crazy adventure-based sports like trekking, paragliding and rock climbing.
Different tourist attractions attract people from different parts of the world to visit this destination every year. Nature lovers and adventure seekers find this place very attractive and peaceful. Check out some of the sightseeing places we can visit in Dharamshala, mentioned below:
- Triund Hill: It is known as the crown of Dharamshala. From one side, this hill is covered by the Dhauladhar range, and from the other side, it has a rolling valley. Travelers visit it and do trekking and organize picnics with amazing views.
- Dharamshala cricket stadium: It is one of the oldest places in Dharamshala. Its beautiful beauty is covered by the greenery of the Himalayan range. The stadium hosts various cricket matches. It is called the HPCA stadium.
- Church of St. John: It is another popular sightseeing spot in Dharamshala. This church is one of the oldest places and has a prominent feature, which makes people feel stunned. If you want to immerse yourself in a moment of rediscovery, then this church is the best place to explore.

These are The Aromatic Tea Gardens, Namgyal Monastery, TsuglagKhang Complex, Bhagsu Falls, Bhagsunath Temple, Hanuman Ka Tibba, Kangra Fort, Indrahar Pass, etc.
I personally love Bhagsu Falls and Bhagsunath Temple. Bhagsu Falls is a waterfall in Dharamshala, surrounded by greenery and the best place for rock climbers and hikers. Here, there is a Bhagsunath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and located near the waterfall.
When we stood on top of Bhagsu Falls, we got an amazing view of the entire city of Dharamshala. We can also visit the local market in Dharamshala, where we can buy some unique and artistic local items.
Local food to enjoy
Dharamshala is known as a spiritual and cultural abode. While the impressive hills and spiritual centers are big attractions to attract tourists, food also plays an important role in making our stay healthier and better.
We can enjoy various local foods in Dharamshala like Tudkiya Bhat, Thukpa, Shapta, Momos, Maggi and Chai, Mittha, Dham, and many more.

Before visiting Dharamshala, I made an advance reservation as it is a place where there is huge rush every time. That is why it is good to make hotel reservations in advance. There are five star hotels and lodges in Dharamshala, which we can choose from.
I never get tired of visiting Dharamshala in my life because it is closer to me in every sense. It has given me the best memories of my life which I wish to live at some point.
