Mystery deepens as fifth friend at Chiefs gathering claims fans found frozen to death in backyard were inside watching ‘Jeopardy!’ when he left

A fifth friend has come forward claiming he was present at the Kansas City Chiefs watch party that resulted in three men freezing to death in their friend’s backyard — and has revealed new details about the trio’s final hours.

A fifth person, who has not been publicly named, had joined the group – which included David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36 – at Jordan Willis’ rental in Kansas City on January 7 to watch their hometown team play a regular season game their last regular, attorney John Picerno told FOX 4.

The man told the outlet that when he left the house, Willis and his three other friends were still awake.

The man also insisted that he was not the last person to see Harrington, Johnson and McGeeney alive before they froze to death in Willis’ yard and went unnoticed for two days.

A fifth individual arrived at the home around 7pm and left around midnight, said his lawyer, Andrew Talge.

When his client left, four other men were watching “Jeopardy!” — showed that all three victims were still alive early Monday morning, Talge added.

Talge’s version of events contradicted Picerno’s statement, which asserted that Willis saw four of his friends go out at the end of the night, then slept on his sofa.

Picerno also said several times that Willis — who allegedly slept on his couch for the next two days, unaware that his three friends were frozen in the backyard — only received messages through Facebook Messenger, and did not get texts or calls, FOX 4 noted.

According to Talge, however, his client received texts from McGeeney’s fiancee and from Johnson’s mother, both asking about their loved ones.

Their concerns prompted Talge’s client to text Willis and Johnson, but he received no response, the attorney alleged.

Picerno declined to comment on the discrepancy, FOX4 said.

Talge also did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

The bodies of Harrington, Johnson and McGeeney were not found until January 9, when McGeeney’s fiancé requested a welfare check.

In an interview with NewsNation last week, Picerno said Willis left his home sporadically on Jan. 8 and 9 — only to backtrack on Monday and say that Willis was only in and out of his bedroom.

David Harrington, 37, also went to his friend’s house to watch a football match. Family Circulation Ricky Johnson’s mother allegedly texted a fifth friend with concerns about his whereabouts. Family Distribution

“What I wanted to say on NewsNation is that he’s gone — he’s sleeping, and he leaves his bedroom sporadically,” he said, according to FOX 4.

Willis moved out of the home less than a week after the body was found, his lawyer added.

The Kansas City Police Department is reportedly still awaiting autopsy and toxicology results — though Capt. Jake Becchina told Fox News Digital that the incident is “100% NOT being investigated as a homicide.”
