Navy SEAL who killed Osama Bin Laden celebrates wedding anniversary days after assault arrest

Days after being arrested for assault and public intoxication, the former Navy SEAL who claims he killed Osama Bin Laden is in high spirits, celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife.

Robert O’Neill was arrested Wednesday in Frisco, Texas, and charged with a Class A misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury and a Class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

O’Neill, 47, has taken credit for firing the fatal shot that killed 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden during a covert raid in Pakistan in 2011.

He retold his story, which was never confirmed or denied by the military, in his 2017 biography.

After his Texas ordeal, which happened after recording a podcast in a cigar lounge, O’Neill took to Instagram on Saturday to write a short but sweet note for his wife.

“Happy Birthday @jessicalynneoneill Thanks for putting up with me! I love you,” wrote the former member of SEAL Team 6.

His post included four pictures of him and his wife, including one on their wedding day and three on the beach, attracting comments from hundreds of well-wishers.

Details of the arrest were not released but records show he was jailed in Collin County.

O’Neill was released the same day on $3,500 bond.

He did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.

Frisco police did not release additional information about the arrest and did not immediately return a message from The Post on Sunday.

Wednesday’s arrest was not O’Neill’s first brush with authorities.

In 2020, the former SEAL was banned by Delta Airlines for refusing to follow COVID protocol and wear a mask

In 2016 he was arrested for drunken driving in Montana, a charge that was later dropped by prosecutors, CBS News reported.

O’Neill is one of the backers of Armed Forces Brewing Co., a Virginia microbrewer born amid controversy over Bud Light’s sponsorship of LGBTQ influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
