NBA Star Jimmy Butler Turns Sad Experience Around For 12-Year-Old Fan After Traveling 4,000 Miles

From complete destruction to an absolute dream come true. That’s what Tuesday night’s Miami Heat game was like for 12-year-old Jimmy Butler fans.

Felipe, along with his sister Zoe, traveled over 4,400 miles from Argentina to Miami to see Butler play with the Heat against the Boston Celtics. The sibling duo held up a sign that read, “Dear Jimmy: We flew 4405 miles to see you play. Can we get a picture or a big face coffee?” But just before the information, something terrible happened – Butler was ruled out due to back pain.

When a Heat usher breaks the news to Felipe and Zoe that not only is Butler not playing, but he’s not even in the building, the devastation and despair can be seen on the boy’s face. That’s when the Miami Heat, and Jimmy Butler, stepped in to turn things around for the visiting fans.

The video clip of Felipe getting bad news says it all. Once he was told Butler wouldn’t be playing and wasn’t in the building, he dropped his sign and smile. None of this happened without notice, and the Miami Heat stepped in to try to help save the day.

At halftime, the brothers were brought down to center court and presented with some memorabilia to try to help make up for the sad situation. They had the opportunity to meet some of the players and take some pictures to document the event. And just when Felipe and Zoe might have thought the experience was over, they got another big surprise. TNT’s Jamal Crawford shared the experience on Instagram with a photo carousel.

Kudos to JB and the person who set this up ????,” said one follower. “This is what it’s all about! Seeing that child smile is a blessing,” wrote another.

NBA Buzz also posted the story on Facebook with many fans commenting how happy they were that the story turned out the way it did. “Jimmy wouldn’t have let the kid go home upset and sad, the staff must have told him about 2 games midway through or right after the game. Jimmy is a kind person for sure. All the LOVE there ?❤,” one fan wrote. “This is how a superstar should treat his fans. Good job to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat,” said another.

Zoe took it too social media to praise the Heat and Butler for doing great things for his family. He tweeted a picture of the surprise meeting and his gratitude for the experience. “Unexpected! Thank you @JimmyButler man, we really have no Words to describe what it means to us,” he tweeted.
